When I started my historical impression of a Cameraman of a
US Army Signal Corps
Signal Photo Co. I soon realized that this won't be a cheap impression.
First I bought a Graflex Speed Graphic Anniversary from another Reenactor.
Being a completitionist I then started to buy all the necessary stuff that goes along with the PH-104 Photographer equipment. In the meantime I always scanned the usual sources for Bell & Howell 35mm "Eyemo" cameras but prices kept me from buying one. But then
almost three years ago I've bought my first 35mm Eyemo in the USA. A single turret "Bomb Spotter" model. Maybe a one and a half years later I've bought the second one just to be followed by another early civilian model but I've never thought that I'd ever be so lucky to own a 71-Q "Spider Turret" model but here it is.
By coincidence I talked to my FB friend Bryan Ilyankoff and I mentioned that I still dream about buying a 71-Q and low and behold he told me that he's currently selling one.
With the help of another FB friend Kevin Sterling Payne I brought it over to Germany.
Thanks to these two cool cats my dream has become reality.
