I give it to you. As children many of us grew up in a time in which you learn the stuff and don't question it... that's how it is.

Creativity was a hobby not a "thing". Finding your voice instead of fitting in is not easy. It takes a lot of trial and error.

I am still trying, the one thing that separates me from others is that I don't give up.

I am not an "AI hater", I embrace it as a tool, but I resist letting my voice being smashed with everyone elses.

So, I am back to writing my own texts... with assistance sometimes, especially the longer ones (it is a matter of efficiency), but always starting with my own thoughts.

Two things you can't and shouldn't outsource: your creativity and your thoughts.

Finding your own voice is important to stay relevant...don't forget about it.

"I am not sure what to talk about" - "Should I really post?" - "What will my colleagues / boss think of it?"

Or a variation of these questions is what I often hear from people, who have the experience, even the purpose to create positive impact, and yet, this fear of what others think or how it will come across is real.

It is less in founders or business owners, but stronger in executives.

But it is possible to overcome it. It is possible to find your voice and to talk about the things that matter. It is possible to stay professional AND be real at the same time.

There is only one why to do it... like Sir Richard Branson would say: "Screw it, just do it!".,, starting and doing even when you don't think you are ready.

Here's one hint: "It always easier to start with topics that really matter to you".

I took a card out of a stack
It's a stack of "Thought of the day" - the question today made me think.

"Which of the things that you do make you happy? Do more of those".

And now, Friday morning, I am sitting here writing this.

Here is what I came up with in no particular order:
✳️ Working with real people in front of me
✳️ Having room to create, come up with new ideas and how to do things
✳️ Helping people reach their goals
✳️ Thinking, connecting dots, learning
✳️ My family and the crazy banter around the dinner table
✳️ Spending time with my close friends
✳️ My dog, walks and cuddles
✳️ Being outside: especially if mountains are involved.
✳️ There are a few more, but these are my top ones.

It made me realize that I do a lot of these things already, that I am grateful to have built a business and a life around those things and that I need to make sure I do more of it.

What makes YOU happy?

I'm on a mission... I want to change the World... even if it is one person at a time.

Because this is what I see constantly.
People who are talented, knowledgeable, true experts at what they do... being...
ignored... overlooked...

Because they digital footprint doesn't come anywhere close to represent who they really truly are.

I want to change that.
Because most people I work with are also on a mission.
I want to help.
It's like a domino effect.
If I can help just ONE Person.
If I can inspire JUST ONE Person.
And they can inspire one more... you see? It's a ripple effect.

Engelhardt and I are on a similar mission, each of us from our own angle, but together, we know this workshop we co-created has the potential to transform.

But it is only for people who are really burning to create impact... are you?

The person you see every day in the mirror...
the one living inside your own head... is never the same person everyone else sees.

I was talking with Katharina Engelhardt about this (watch the clip from her Podcast)... and it's something I see constantly with established experts.

There is a gap between how you see yourself and how others see you.

I was talking to a client and her challenge, she looks young, but carries many years of experience with her, how people see her doesn't align with the caliber of her experience.

What I have learned is that almost always we sell ourselves short compared to how the world actually perceives us.

And when your brand doesn't reflect the authority others already see in you, you stay invisible to the exact opportunities you've already earned.

They're already within reach... you just haven't made yourself visible enough to claim them.

This is why Katharina and I are doing this workshop together, the Leadership Visibility... because the first change that needs to happen starts inside and the second one is on how you show up into the World with confidence:

I did something... or better said... I am doing something and I cringe a little bit myself too. 🙈

But in the spirit of doing things beyond your comfort zone... here I am. Give me a second to explain...

This video explains the second mistake in Visual Branding visibility... but it is part of a longer YouTube video... for years I made dibs into YouTube (as an evergreen channel makes perfect sense), but I felt it was not good enough.

Ok, if you go there now, you will see all my old videos and one new one (two more are almost ready) - am I happy with it?

Not really, but why did I decide to post it anyway?

Because as I tell my clients, show up even when you don't feel ready, show up even when you feel it is cringy, show up, because the world needs to know about you and you are here for a purpose and to create impact.

So, this is me showing up, and sharing with you the process.

For years, I have felt the calling to share more, and eventhough I have never been a "trend" follower, I have stuck to short format... but I feel it is not enough. Or as Oana Leonte would say... I need to give it more meaning and I can't do that in this short format.

I promise it will get better... showing up is like training a muscle, you just need conviction and purpose to choose to do so... and I do...

When it comes to being seen for your expertise, most people have one of two blocks... or both...

1) Belief Blocks: this is where you second guess yourself, where you fear what others will think, where you feel that you "haven't gotten there yet", where you believe it is "showing off" and not "showing up"... where you hold yourself back because of limiting beliefs that have you stuck.

2) Visual Identity Blocks: this is where you are not confident how your visual identity should look, the visual branding, the photos, the presence, the thought leadership, how to frame it, what to talk about and for fear of not looking professional, because visuals are not your area of expertise... you end up doing nothing... or selling yourself short.

What Katharina engelhardt and I built here is a transformation, is a way of getting you out of being stuck. It is a way of being recognized for the true expertise that you hold, because by showing up you own the power of creating the impact you are destined for.

Sound familiar?

I see this constantly with brilliant, experienced experts — people who have more knowledge in their heads than most people will accumulate in a lifetime. And yet, the world doesn't know they exist.

In my experience it's usually one of these three things:

Perfectionism. ("It's not quite right yet.")
Fear of judgment. ("What will my colleagues think?")
Feeling exposed. ("What if it comes across as unprofessional?")

Until you name what's stopping you, you can't move past it.

Here me out: there is no perfect post.

There's only the post that you published. And the one sitting in your drafts.

The one that was a little rough around the edges.

The one you almost didn't share.

The one that got three DMs from people saying "this is exactly what I needed to hear."

Imperfect and out in the world beats perfect and sitting in your drafts.
Every. Single. Time.

STOP 🛑 overthinking!!! Really... and hit publish on that post that has been sitting in your computer for over a week.

Are you trying to get everything perfect? The right font, the right color, the exact balance of text and image... you know what you are doing? ... procrastinating ... self-sabotaging.

Showing up is scary. What will other people think of me. Am I enough?

The perfect post sitting on your computer is helping... well... no one! Not even yourself.

Gather the courage to show up less than perfect, trust me, it will be ok.

So, forget about what others think, forget about being perfect and just show-up, you can always grow and improve on the way... because no one got better by not doing... it is the actual doing what makes us get better at whatever it is that you are holding yourself back from.

We had been thinking about taking this step for a while... but the right time was now.

We launched our new business - and took the opportunity to celebrate with friends and colleagues.

Let me explain:
Leadbridge Consulting GmbH is our official company, but as some of you have asked me... peoplebrands remains MY business brand, but for practical reasons, invoices are coming from Leadbridge.

I will continue to work in Personal Branding and with Experts who want to become THE Authority in their field.
