Motographic Vision Hey, I’m Kenneth! I love capturing the spirit of cars!

Grey sky, dirty car, no real plan. Went anyway.

Up on the roof it looked like there wouldn’t be a single bit of sun. Then, for a few minutes, it came through.

If I had stayed home, this photo wouldn’t exist.

Not shooting is the problem. Not the weather.

When did you last cancel a shoot because of the forecast?

Happy Halloween 🎃
Forget the movies, this is the stuff that actually scares car photographers.

Number 7 happened to me. My photo ended up on someone’s event flyer. No credit, no ask, and then I was told I should be happy about it. Still the scariest one on this list.

Which one scares you most? Just drop the number.

Your photos are in group chats you’ll never see.

Someone sent me screenshots from a WhatsApp group I’m not even in. People related to , sharing the gallery, picking favorites, hyping each other up. My DMs look the same right now.

On Instagram the gallery post flopped. Below my typical post from the first hour on.

Didn’t matter. In the same 20 hours, 84 people signed up for the gallery and took over 250 photos home. And no graph shows you the group chats.

All I did was hand the drivers their photos.

Couldn’t find your car in batch 1? A lot of you asked. I’m going through every file again. No promises, but you’ll hear from me.

Chats are recreated and translated from German. No names, no screenshots.

Drivers: which one went into your group chat?

35,000 shots in two days. 321 made it.

my first drift-only event. Batch 1 of the gallery is live now and free for every driver. Link in my bio and story.

Drivers: find your car, post it, tag me in the caption. Can’t find yours? DM me, a few more are coming in batch 2.

Photographers: what’s your keep rate after an event like this?

First run I shot at and I was already laughing like a maniac 😂

I had just stepped onto the track in Allstedt, my first proper drift event, when this yellow S14 from came straight at me and went past fully sideways.

Send this to the friend you’re dragging to their first drift event 👀

The 3 frames up top are from that exact run. Edited with Daily Drivers, the 9 presets I use the most. Link’s in my bio.

Ever filmed a drift on your phone, watched it back later and thought „that’s not what it looked like“?

That’s how almost every fresh import feels to me. Flat and quiet. None of the sun, the smoke or the noise.

That’s why I edit. Not to make it prettier than it was. To get it back to how it felt. Some people say my edits are overdone. Fair. But they weren’t standing at in Allstedt when the sun went down. This is how it felt.

Send this to the friend whose edits always get called overdone.

Where do you draw the line between your edit and overdone?

Don’t pack up when the sun goes down. That’s when the track gets interesting.

Every shot in this post: ISO 10,000 on my A7R III, between 1/40 and 1/10 s while panning. Yes, there’s grain. Zoom in and tell me it ruins the shot.

Floodlights, smoke and underglow do half the work for you. The other half is not going home.

Send this to the friend who packs up when it gets dark.

What’s the highest ISO you’ve ever kept a photo from?

The craziest drift train I’ve ever seen and shot.
Six cars, door to door, all the way through the corner.

After the run .nl only had one question: how are they not crashing?
Turns out it’s simple. As says: You just don’t crash 😅

I always tell my clients to wash their car before a shoot.

Not because I’m picky. I just can’t magically clean a car in Photoshop or Lightroom. Whatever is on it ends up in the pictures. Unless you want photos of your dirty car 😅

My own car on a random Tuesday? Different story. That one was just about having fun.

And honestly, the photos still turned out pretty good.

Do you clean before your own shoots or just send it?

Doubting your photos? Check what’s in front of the lens before you blame your skill.

Every time the doubt kicks in, I tell myself the same thing: it’s not the skill, it’s the subjects. Then I shot my first pure drift event, Miyabi Dori Invitational in Allstedt. Same camera I always use, over 35,000 shots in two days. It confirmed it.

So this one goes out to the drivers. You’re the reason these look the way they do.

What’s the best subject you’ve ever had in front of your lens?
