I am thrilled to be part of Aesthetica Art Prize 20:

Marking its 20th anniversary, the Prize presents a landmark, multi-site exhibition across North Yorkshire, bringing together 50 international artists whose work reflects the urgency and the complexity of life in the 21st century.

Aesthetica Art Prize 20 is presented across four venues in North Yorkshire:

Skipton Town Hall (25 April – 27 September),
Mercer Gallery (2 May – 6 September),
Scarborough Art Gallery (16 May – 6 September) and
Woodend Scarborough (16 May – 6 September).

“Candles: Catharsis”, 2025.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

This is not only the last image of my “Candles”-triptych, it is also the last piece of my series ENTROPY • APOPHENIA • CATHARSIS. Furthermore, it is the last picture for a long time since I will concentrate on coming up with a new body of work in 2026. A lot will change, but some things will also stay the same. I will keep you updated in the following months … :)

“Candles: Entropy”, 2025.

Last year in July, I started my series ENTROPY • APOPHENIA • CATHARSIS. Now, after creating nine triptychs / 27 images in total, this body of work is coming to an end.

The three scenes from “Candles“ will be my last life-size sets for a long time. In 2016, it all began with my series ”Grown“ and after exactly ten years, it’s finally time for a very fresh start in 2026. Therefore, I shall bring the past decade to a ceremonious close with these last motifs. 🕯️🥂🎇

The Sun has long stood as a symbol of clarity, creation, and transformation. In myth, Apollo carried that radiance into the realm of thought, paired with the Delphic command “Gnothi Seauton”: Know thyself.

AI rises as a modern Apollonian fire – a force born from human hands, yet increasingly asking who truly shapes whom. It sharpens perception, expands imagination, and tests the limits of identity. A creation that can illuminate new realms of understanding – or reflect the maker’s own illusions.
