The 🆕 issue of Waves & Woods Magazin has arrived and has a treasure trove of photos and stories in store for surfers, van enthusiasts 🚐 and nature lovers.

Issue 47 takes you to some seriously different corners of the world 🌎. First stop: Ericeira 🇪🇷, where pro surfer Marlon Lipke shares his favorite spots, the best coffee, the ideal time to visit, and whether Ericeira could actually be a place to move to 🤔

It hikes 36 kilometers through the Hajar Mountains in Ras al Khaimah 🇴🇲, explores summertime Arosa, and sits down with big wave surfer Andrew „Cotty“ Cotton to talk about the world’s biggest waves, fear, and how Nazaré became what it is today.

Then it heads to a place that’s been sitting on plenty of bucket lists for a long time: São Tomé and Príncipe 🇸🇹. Rainforest, black volcanic cliffs, waterfalls, and an island nation still largely uncharted for most. Leve leve, as the locals say — take it easy. Slowly, slowly 🐌. Maybe the perfect motto for this issue.

It also catches up with Vincent Bartels, who’s spent years traveling with his camera and his VW Syncro, giving readers a look into his striking portfolio 👀. Mountain and ski guide Reiner Taglinger takes readers along on a trip to the Himalayas with his daughter and her friends, the issue celebrates the return of road trip season, and visits Kéa, a Greek 🇬🇷 island where things still move a little slower.

„Tyler Hatzikian, the real deal” said filmmaker Jason Baffa back in 1993 after watching the big goofyfoot destroy a solid South Bay left on a ’60s style longboard with a soulful style unlike anything Baffa had ever seen. He then went on to feature Tyler in two seminal surf classics “Singlefin: Yellow” and “One California Day”.

Multi-talented Laure Mayer grew up in the Basque Country, has surfed around the world and now lives mainly in Australia. Byron Bay naturally!

Some amazing photos taken by Mike Ito from the water a la Don James of seemingly diminutive Emi Erickson riding a 10’6” gun at massive Waimea. Emi’s the daughter of Roger Erickson, himself a Waimea master, and her board was shaped specifically for this wave and carried two distinctive black stripes as tribute to her dad.

Big news: Milda Milda Cergelyte just joined our crew as our newest ambassador! 🌊

This Lithuanian 🇱🇹 surfer traded 15 years of city life and a fashion career in London 🇬🇧 for something a little wetter — turning her return home into a full-blown surf obsession.

From the Baltic Sea’s unpredictable swells to Citywave Vilnius, she found her way back to the water and never looked back 🏄‍♀️. When she’s not surfing, she’s snowboarding in winter or surfskating with her crew.

But Milda’s not just about her own progress. Together with best friend Neringa she founded Nereidės Nereidės to build a community that gets women out on the water together 💪 — through workshops, surf trips, and good old-fashioned confidence-building.

Two months have passed since the last issue of The Surfer's Journal, and it’s that time again 🥳
