David Köster is a German landscape photographer. He focuses on the natural play of light and colors, shapes and structures to spark imagination and emotion.

He says: "At the center of my work is the aesthetic aspect of our home planet. That’s why my pictures are often idealizing. In this sense my photographic approach differs from classical documentary or reportage photography."

David recently published a book about getting started in landscape photography (humboldt Verlag).

What's the secret of an outstandig travel image? 📷

That's the question Ugo Cei Photography and Ralph Velasco asked their guests of The Traveling Image Makers-Podcast.

Among the photographers who share their thoughts on this topic are: Ibarionex Perello, James Maher, Ken Kaminesky, Marco Larousse, Valerie Jardin and Pia Parolin 🎙️

Take a listen! 🎧

And what's your opinion?

This week’s edition of the podcast is a bit special. Unlike our typical episode, where we have a conversation with a guest, what we’ve done this time is to contact some of our previous guests and ask them one question.

„So many people are focused on money and careers, that’s why they come to New York. There’s little time left for relationships or hanging out.“

Luc Kordas

In this interview, Luc talks about one of his most recent projects which is called „Loneliness in New York“.

What I find so intriguing about this project is that Luc actually didn’t start out with a clear idea of what the final outcome would be like.

In fact, it was another photographer looking through his images that pointed out that loneliness was a recurring theme in his images.

With that in mind, Luc himself took a closer look at his archive and realized that it was true.

He discovered many images that displayed loneliness in some way or another in a big city like New York with it’s over 8 million people.

His images are truly extraordinary. Intimate and distanced at the same time. Showing brilliantly the seeming paradox between lonely people and the lack of connection in a buzzling metropolis like New York.

My guest in this episode is Canadian documentary and fine art photographer Dyanne Wilson Photography.

In this interview, we talk about her influences in photography and get into the importance of looking at other art forms when developing a photographic vision.

Another topic of our conversation is Dyanne’s photo tour to which is considered to be the capital of Northern Lights in Canada.

Although Dyanne has studied Art History at the University of Ottawa and has taken a few technical courses in photography, she is basically self-taught.

Dyanne has a keen interest in the cultural diversity of Canada as it is expressed in the built environment, nature and life itself.

She prefers images that convey the mood, narrative and beauty of a person, place or event.

In 2014, Dyanne was invited by Fuji to be an official Fuji-X-Photographer.

Ottawa based photographer Dyanne Wilson talks about her photo tour to Yellowknife which is considered to be the capital of Northern Lights in Canada.
