A very laser-focused tour I won't forget anytime soon! Thanks to Schiller for the amazing music and the trust, and to the entire crew for the moments I was able to capture in Cologne. Projects like this only work with a team that's all-in on every position – and that's exactly what we had here. 🙏✨

Lama Drama
Fujifilm GFX100 II + GF 250 mm

Actually, it's a guanaco—one of the wild ancestors of the domesticated llama. Spotted in the golden light of sunset near Torres del Paine, matching the fur color so nicely! It noticed me, paused, then turned away its head. So, not much drama after all — but a moment of elegance.

Guanacos (Lama guanicoe) are native to South America and are well-adapted to the harsh climates of Patagonia. They live in herds and are known for their alertness, often having a sentinel to watch for predators like pumas. Their thick, soft wool is highly valued and helps them withstand cold temperatures.

Crested Caracara
Fujifilm GFX100 II + GF 500 mm + 1.4× converter (700 mm)

I captured this beautiful Crested Caracaras in its natural habitat close to El Chaltèn - right next to a dead guanaco. The 700 mm setup let me photograph these guys from a distance without disturbing them.

I managed to highlight their sharp gaze and confident posture. This raptor not only impresses with its striking look but also with the way it strides on the ground. Showing nature’s raw power (they just left clean bones behind) - and so natures elegance.

Patagonia doesn’t need sky replacements or AI-assisted image manipulation. All the visual drama is real — and right there in front of you.

Fitz Roy with Clouds

Fujifilm GFX100 II + GF 80 mm

My hiking buddies and joined and me through the bushes on tiny trails to reach this classic Patagonia photo spot early in the morning — but our lovely Mr. Fitz Roy decided to keep his cloudy hat on instead of showing off some morning alpenglow.

Still, a tranquil and peaceful start to the day, surrounded by perfect autumn colors.

Mount Fitz Roy, also known as Cerro Chaltén, rises to 3,405 meters and is one of the most iconic peaks in Patagonia — a dream for climbers, hikers, and photographers alike.

Laguna Torre

We decided to hike to Laguna Torre to observe the glacier in front of the famous Cerro Torre at sunset. As clouds started to roll in quickly, we looked for compositions with the glacier that would avoid the harsh light.

In the end, the reflections and shadows lined up beautifully, helping me get over the frustration of a too-cloudy sunset and appreciate this afternoon setting instead.

The final image is a panoramic composition made from 6 single shots — after a challenging hike through large boulders, mountain cliffs, riverbeds, and those beautifully wicked forests.

Just Patagonia in autumn at its best!

Núpsstaður Turf Church
The beauty of Icelandic heritage lies in its simplicity. If you look closely, there’s always something to find—like these delicate foreground flowers adding a quiet charm to the scene.
