Lama Drama
Fujifilm GFX100 II + GF 250 mm
Actually, it's a guanaco—one of the wild ancestors of the domesticated llama. Spotted in the golden light of sunset near Torres del Paine, matching the fur color so nicely! It noticed me, paused, then turned away its head. So, not much drama after all — but a moment of elegance.
Guanacos (Lama guanicoe) are native to South America and are well-adapted to the harsh climates of Patagonia. They live in herds and are known for their alertness, often having a sentinel to watch for predators like pumas. Their thick, soft wool is highly valued and helps them withstand cold temperatures.
