Every once in a while I need to bring some oldies back, and these few days from a 2024 elopement in Seychelles, aka literal paradise in the middle of the Indian Ocean, are always top of the list. The cover photo was also awarded by Junebug Weddings as one of the world’s top 50 wedding photos that year, which was veeeery exciting!

This was actually my last time working outside of Europe, but it’s definitely time for a trip like this one again. Anyone fancy eloping somewhere crazy?

Fanal Forest, Madeira in all its moody, misty glory! Who would’ve thought getting completely soaked by rain at 7 in the morning could be this fun? This was the second day of this dream Madeira elopement though, so thankfully all the rain didn’t matter anymore.

Being caught out by the weather is understandably a pretty common concern for most couples who choose to elope though. But while there’s almost always a plan B option or enough flexibility to change the timeline and move things around, man, it makes for some amazing photos, doesn’t it?

Amalfi Coast Elopement in Sorrento 🍋🖤 There's literally no way to have a more relaxed wedding day than this one. We spent the morning casually strolling through beautiful alleys and exploring hidden courtyards – with lots of gelato, of course.

Then, but only after an afternoon-nap (yes, you can simply do that when you elope), we hopped on a private boat to drive along the stunning cliffs around this part of the Amalfi coast at sunset. Turns out none of us can handle being on the water that well and all kinda felt like throwing up for a bit afterwards, but hey, still fun 😂

What day one of this incredible Madeira elopement looked like last month 😍 Nothing but the best of times with some newly found friends for life.

Mikaela & Ben spent 20h+ in a plane from Australia to turn their wedding into an amazing month-long honeymoon trip through Europe – traveling to Germany, Portugal, Croatia, Switzerland and Belgium. Since they already got engaged in Madeira years before, it was only fitting to choose to elope in what is (judging by the photos) definitely rightfully called „the flower island“ during this time of year.

We spent two days that simply felt like being on a fun road trip, exploring some of my favorite places in Madeira, and before meeting again to hang out in Lisbon AND Belgium, ended our stay on the island with a casual afternoon of go-karting. Gotta do what you gotta do.

And speaking of Belgium – a week after their elopement, it took one single message to convince me to join them for a 5-day camping trip and book some flights as well as a weekend ticket to watch the F1 Grand Prix in Spa with them lol.

What a joy to call something that makes me connect with some of the most amazing people I ever met my job.

Still not over my recent trip to the Faroe Islands and the absolute insanity of some of these landscapes. Like, what do you mean there's a lake above the ocean on top of some massive cliffs?! This was where we kicked off this dream of an elopement with some epic engagement photos the day before – 10/10 recommend.
