Farida Khalaf ( ) President of Farida Global Organization and Co-Author of "The Girl Who Beat ISIS" for an ongoing exhibition about

“I wish I could say that my story and the stories of hundreds of other Yazidi genocide survivors are a part of the past but unfortunately, this is still ongoing. Until today, more than 2000 Yazidi women, men, and children are missing.” Farida Khalaf

Last Monday another important event for had taken place in the German Bundestag: The Committee on Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid had scheduled a hearing on the genocide against the Yazidis.

In parallel to the discussion in the Bundestag and in a joint effort to raise further awareness to the plea of the Yazidis for accountability, justice, and further international aid in overcoming the devastating consequences of the genocide, and .help held a vigil for the victims of the genocide and presented the photo exhibition "The Women Who Beat ISIS“.

The Grand Canyon, no need to say more. Just take a look at these huge walls, you can even see the stream who caused all this all the way down in the canyon.
What brought it there? Persistence!
Time proves everything they say...but then: what is anyway?I’d say it is what we make out of it.
Randy Komisar says: „And then there is the most dangerous risk of all - the risk of spending your life not doing what you want on the bet you can buy yourself the freedom to do it later.“
What ever it is, you can do it! Just start today, it might take some „time“.

There is something about this picture of a trawler I took almost 15 years ago, pulling into the harbor of Hirtshals, Denmark, on an early November morning. For some reason it has always been one of my favorites. Seeing thousands of photos come and go, I still find it interesting and it makes me stop and dream - somehow timeless.
