This is a post from the heart...
Some of you know that I have a past obsession with circus...... and may have even seen me perform.... and certainly have seen some of my circus images.......and some might know i have a secret wish to get back to it properly, since injury took me out of it....
Circus helped me get through my marriage break up, the death of my sister and helped me channel my physical energy into something creative.
The Circus community we have here in wellington is really special. It has always been in a perilous position financially - but unless Wellington steps up now, we run a real risk of losing it forever....if nothing happens in the next month -the circus hub will be disbanded at the end of the month and the precious truss for all the aerial points will be put away.....and can only then be brought back to a new venue at great expense
If any of my followers out there are musicians and artists yourselves, you will know how underfunded and underappreciated the arts are, so maybe you can find it in your hearts to help.
