Now I went full mechanical.
No auto mode with the the focus was a challenge ( and you can see on the pictures even with different light situations it could handle it)
the key there was finding a suitable lense.
Luckily I had that.
Those are the best I have of 2025.
film takes process.
Something you learn in digital within one photo, film takes a whole roll
While film cameras are highly affordable, film rolls and developing are the ones which makes it just as much as costly as a digital one.
Maybe that’s why I went back to digital though I still have the Nikon and still love the vibe of those photos.
The waste of missing Fokus or bad lighting of photos was something I could not get over.
When you ask me what quantically made better photos I would say film because its such an uncanny vibe.
But in terms of improvement and progress: digital. Always.

Aaaand that made me actually ditch the
Of course its film, its an half frame sensor and nightshooting with moving objects yada yada. The night had an amazing night and I shot around 47 pictures. 5 came around actually presentable. That’s also reality not a lot of film photographers talk about when shooting film. Of course you could say, auto focus and night what where you thinking? But night photos is something you can go much deeper with digital cameras.
And thats why there are no bad cameras.
You have your preferences.
All cameras have limits.
And you have to find out how the limits least affect your preferences.

Summer of 2025 wasn’t all that crazy regarding heat and everything which is why…not a lot of pictures have made it there.
But you can now finally see where an shows their limits especially with this half frame. Btw by

The dearest who I’ve known since 2009 back to the old cosplay days.
I love doing yet ppl have a love hate relationship with it.
In the photo studio most of the clients who turn there to have photos taken for them or their family privately usually don’t like it.
They don’t like smiling (which I totally get. No one likes to smile on command)
But to get a result you have to be open just a tiny bit to let me and my camera see you.

First Photo was done with an iPad so forgive the low quality. He was 15 years old on that one.
I got him when he was 13. seemed unbreakable fat so I called him Wolfram.
The 2.-4. was shot with Pentax 17. ugly camera. Extremely versatile and handles different light situations very interestingly. Did not love the autofocus though.
Those are the last film photos of wolfram.
They were shot in 2024.
In April of 2025 I decided to put him into sleep because 10 minutes being awake
(which was the time he layed next to me in bed to sleep at the same time I do.)
While the rest of the day he was scared and weary because he did not remember anything.
I wanted to give him good last years and not feel afraid. In some I succeeded ig.
Because he lived until he was 25 years old.
