The peregrine falcon - its beauty and elegance have fired people's imagination since ancient times. The famous behavioral scientist Konrad Lorenz called it the "bird of birds“ - flight speeds of over 300 km/h make it the fastest creature on this planet. Because of its extreme adaptability, its range extends around the globe, across a wide variety of climatic zones....therefore it was a tragedy that in the mid-1970s it was considered extinct in large parts of central and northern Europe. But in recent decades, populations have recovered, thanks largely to the tireless efforts of volunteer conservationists.
I had the opportunity to observe a breeding pair in the Palatinate Forest raising their chicks and I took pictures of people who care about them. „Falco lives“ - currently my pictures are published with a reportage of Andreas Beerlage
