Students at Ole Nkuya primary school.
This school is about to get a complete WASH project. I will show the current water fetching situation in a coming up post. It was one of the most shocking situations I have witnessed so far.

Three portraits. That’s it. Due to a very tight schedule and heavy outbreaks of rain ☔️ I wasn’t able to do as much as usual 🥺. This young lady is Jeanette. She is 6 years old and a student of illmonchin elementary school. Soon one of our projects will be implemented and most of the diseases that come with unsafe water will be a thing of the past. The 250m deep shallow borehole is already drilled! Fortunately I have a lot of shots from the flushing! 🫡

Just before the rain hit our location I took the chance to portrait Samuel. Kenya is different in many ways but the grace of the people living in Narok county is very similar to our friends in Tigray. It’s another chapter…I will take it with a grain of salt. Let’s not forget that all the people I portrayed since 2015 are in danger of war, drought, famine and even genocide! Fortunately we are able to still support each and every project we implemented in Ethiopia. Now we are proud to tell the story of our friends in the southern part of Kenya and the people of Tanzania 🇹🇿.

Two years have passed. Two years without the opportunity to do what I can do best. Finally the curtains had opened and I took the chance to travel to Kenya 🇰🇪. A new country, new friends, a new story. Meet Beatrice! Head teacher at the elementary school we visited together with the after our visit was about to come to an end I took the opportunity to portrait her on the school compound. Her vision for a better future was stunning…thanks for showing us what sustainable work can change in a stiff world.

Well well well...so this is my 300th picture post on Instagram! I will celebrate this anniversary with my very best picture from Tigray region. Birhan Tekla from lealay mnkirkir close to the Eritrean border. Shot in 2015. In my opinion this image shows best what our intense work in Ethiopia is for. It’s for the people, it’s for the whole family of mankind. Country’s are just lines, drawn in the sand with a stick. Cheers guys! Thx for giving me the trust and the freedom to do what I can do best! Melae Semre was 77 when I shot him in 2016 next to the drilling site. He was witnessing change that he never thought was in his reach! He grew up with no access to clean water...now the well is operating for 4 years. A chance for self determination for coming generations. You want to have more informations about my body of work?
