Last Thursday, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, was a very special occasion. We premiered our new film "Phoenix" by tielke alongside a photo exhibition and podium discussion at

So many rather unbelievable coincidences merged together to make this day even more special.

Three weeks after wrapping our shoot, Sohaila and her family were granted asylum in Germany and they moved to a refugee home close to Düsseldorf. We were fortunate enough to have Sohaila and Bahra attend the event in person. The conversation was enlightening and emotional, giving us a glimpse into their world and and some of the difficulties they have been through. We want to thank everybody who came out to make the evening so special. All the money we raised will be donated to You are amazing

Sohaila, Zahra and Zeinab train every day. Their dream is to become professional fighters and to show the world that all people are equal. We spent a week in and around the Malakasa refugee camp outside Athens getting to know these inspirational young Afghan women, documenting their gruelling commitment to fitness and their raging passion for equality.
