Was a lot of fun to shoot Partial Solar Eclipse on film. First, I found in Leica Classic Store strange Solar filter with diameter of 91 ! Small investigation brought me to the Telyt 1:5/400mm lens from 1960s, which you can use with a Visoflex. Then I made protective glasses from exposed films for the whole family, and we went to the field with 2kg Tylet lens, Visoflex, Leica M-A, Ilford bw film, and a tripod. I found a hint for an aperture and shutter speed in Internet, because through that golden/silver folie Solar-filter you see nothing, except for Direct Sun. I didn’t expect much from that roll of film, but it turned out pretty well, and I have some images. Here I don’t compete with any proffesionals, who photographed Full Eclipse in Spain, jumping on skateboard or flying on the wings. But this would be a nice memory for my family. Can’t wait to print some silver-gelatines in the darkroom.
