It’s been a minute. And also a decade. Celebrating 10 years of this beautiful soul who holds a mirror up to me everyday. His kindness is unmatched, his empathy is overflowing and his stubbornness is only rivaled by my own. Watching him become him is one of the great joys of my life. ❤️

I am a bit late with posting (as usual) but I’m delighted to share that my project Between the Silence was awarded honourable mention for UNICEF Photo of the Year 2024. I am blown away to have my work recognised at this level and exhibited alongside such talented photographers. A big thank you to and all the judges on the panel who saw the importance and the value in sharing this personal story.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Between the Silence is a personal documentation of my family’s experience with Selective Mutism, a severe anxiety disorder that left our son mute outside of our home for years. I ‘armed’ my son with a simple instax camera to start to explore his feelings and I used my camera to explore mine. I hope that this project can speak to any family dealing with childhood anxiety.

These are the last two weeks to see the exhibition in Berlin at the Willy-Brandt-Haus. If you are in Berlin, please stop by and take a look! If you are not in Berlin, please check out the link in bio to see incredible stories that are affecting children around the world beautifully captured and told from amazing photographers from around the world.

The ability to take a weekend at the beach is such a big part of our quality of life at the moment. Being able to let go of everything in life and just be there, be present, be playful. Forgetting the feeling of wishing you could put the kids to bed at 4pm and holding on to the last seconds of the day. Braving the setting sun and the rising waves. Anything to stretch the moment as long as you can. Grateful for another one of these weekends so here’s a throwback to the last one.

I’ve wanted to capture this for a while now. I wanted to capture it for me, to remember how it was when I used to do everything with little humans always climbing on me. I want to remember how strong I was. And as frustrating as it can be to not have a few moments to just do yoga in peace, I’m certain I will look at this and miss that tiny human crawling all over me.

Windows down. Wind blowing through our hair. Chin stained with cherry juice. Nothing but nature in site. The smell of trees in the air. Country music blasting on the radio.
