Der nächste Workshop steht an: Analoges Labor Color (RA-4-Prozess) – Farbe als gestalterischer Prozess mit Rachel Israela. Rachel Israela arbeitet seit vielen Jahren an der Schnittstelle von Porträt-, Mode- und künstlerischer Fotografie. In ihrer Arbeit geht es um Tiefe, Atmosphäre und darum, Geschichten sichtbar zu machen – jenseits von Oberflächlichkeiten. Besonders der analoge Farbprint spielt dabei eine zentrale Rolle: als handwerklicher Prozess, bei dem Farbe nicht nur reproduziert, sondern bewusst gestaltet wird. Gemeinsam tauchen wir in die Welt des analogen Farbprints ein und arbeiten vom Negativ bis zum fertigen Abzug. Im Fokus stehen nicht nur die technischen Grundlagen des RA-4-Prozesses, sondern vor allem die bewusste Gestaltung mit Farbe, Hauttönen, Filtration und Belichtung. Der Workshop richtet sich an Fotografinnen und ambitionierte Autodidaktinnen, die Farbe als kreatives Werkzeug entdecken möchten. Einige wenige Plätze sind noch frei.

Rachel Israela has worked for many years at the intersection of portrait, fashion, and fine art photography. Her work is concerned with depth, atmosphere, and making stories visible beyond surface appearances. Analog color printing plays a central role in her practice—not merely as a technical process, but as a craft through which color is consciously shaped and interpreted.

Together, we will explore the world of analog color printing, working from the negative to the final print. The workshop focuses not only on the technical foundations of the RA-4 process, but also on the intentional use of color, skin tones, filtration, and exposure as creative tools.

This workshop is aimed at photographers and dedicated self-taught practitioners who would like to discover color as a creative medium and deepen their understanding of the analog color darkroom.

Behind the Scenes unseres Workshops für „Architektur- und Industriefotografie im digitalen Mittelformat“

Im historischen Kornversuchsspeicher in Berlin – einem beeindruckenden Zeugnis früher Betonbaukunst und Industriearchitektur – wurde schnell klar, wie unterschiedlich der Blick auf ein und dasselbe Objekt sein kann. Zwischen markanten Trichterspeicherdecken, rauen Betonflächen und sanierten Klinkerfassaden entstanden ganz eigene fotografische Ansätze und Perspektiven.

Mit Kameras von und haben wir Licht, Struktur und Raum erkundet – immer mit Fokus auf Gestaltung, Bildsprache und den kreativen Austausch. Besonders schön war das gemeinsame Arbeiten im Team, das Teilen von Ideen und die vielen unterschiedlichen Herangehensweisen an Architektur und Raum.

Das Feedback hat uns sehr gefreut: Die Mischung aus Technik und künstlerischem Arbeiten kam besonders gut an, ebenso die offene Atmosphäre, die Coaches und Dozenten sowie die Anfängerfreundlichkeit des Workshops.

Danke an alle Teilnehmenden für die inspirierenden Gespräche und die gemeinsame Zeit vor Ort.

Der nächste Workshop findet im Oktober statt – es sind noch wenige Plätze frei.

Für den Workshop „Analoges Labor – Silbergelatineabzüge“ am 16.05.2026 sind noch wenige Plätze frei.

Mit Martin Weinhold tauchst du in die Welt der analogen Schwarzweiß-Fotografie ein – vom Bildgespräch bis zum fertigen Fine-Art-Print.

Gemeinsam starten wir mit einer Bildbesprechung deiner mitgebrachten Arbeiten.
Hier entstehen Austausch, neue Perspektiven und frische Impulse für deine fotografische Sprache.

Danach geht es ins Labor:
Du arbeitest Schritt für Schritt am Vergrößerer, lernst mit Licht, Blende und Filtern zu gestalten, entwickelst Teststreifen und steuerst aktiv Kontrast und Tonwerte.

In der Dunkelkammer entstehen echte Handabzüge – mit Chemie, Papier und Präzision. Jeder Print ein Unikat.

Abschließend: Trocknung, Finish und gemeinsame Reflexion deiner Ergebnisse.

Architectural and industrial photography in digital medium format.

From May 8th to May 10th, we are once again hosting an architectural workshop in collaboration with Phase One and ALPA. Three days of intensive work on developing a personal photographic approach – at a special location in Berlin.

We work with ALPA and Phase One cameras – including the ALPA 12 MAX and Phase One XT, as well as digital backs with up to 150 megapixels. All equipment is provided.

The first day focuses on introduction and exchange with photographer Alexander Schippel, who shares insights into his work and covers technical and creative fundamentals. We then explore perspective, focal lengths, shifting, and the conscious use of space.

The second day is dedicated to hands-on shooting on location – guided by Alexander Schippel, who supports both technical and artistic decisions: from depth of field to composition, from line work to visual expression.

The third day is dedicated to digital post-production in Capture One – including Lens Cast Correction and precise image editing. Selected works are printed directly in the p:berlin labs – the moment when a file becomes a physical image.

Am Wochenende fand mit der großartigen Fotografin .heinecke unser Workshop Still-Life-Fotografie im p: berlin Studio statt.
Es ging um Lichtsetzung, Kameraeinstellungen und die Inszenierung von Alltagsgegenständen – darum, wie im Still Life Bilder entstehen, die Geschichten erzählen.

Neben gemeinsamem Essen, Kennenlernen und Austausch gab Caroline einen offenen Einblick in ihre Arbeitsweise und teilte ihre Erfahrungen aus der Praxis. Vielen Dank dafür.

Danke an Caroline und Henry für Offenheit, Wissen und Inspiration – und an alle Teilnehmer:innen für Fokus, Neugier und die gute Energie im Studio.

Last weekend, our Still Life Photography workshop took place at the p: berlin studio with the wonderful photographer Caroline Heinecke.

We explored lighting, camera settings and the staging of everyday objects — focusing on how still life photography can create images that tell stories.

Alongside shared meals, conversations and exchange, Caroline gave an open insight into her working process and shared her practical experience. Thank you for that.

Der Fotograf .brade arbeitet seit über dreißig Jahren mit klassischer Dunkelkammertechnik und teilt im Rahmen der p: berlin academy seine umfangreiche Erfahrung in dem Workshop zum RA-4 Farbprozess.

Der Workshop richtet sich an Fotograf:innen, die Farbabzüge auf klassischem Weg herstellen möchten. Vorkenntnisse aus dem S/W-Labor sind hilfreich, aber nicht zwingend erforderlich. Es werden Grundlagen der analogen Farbfotografie vermittelt, in Materialien und Ausrüstung eingeführt und das Ganze praktisch erprobt. Ziel ist es, ein vertieftes Verständnis für Farbprozesse im analogen Labor zu vermitteln – von der Theorie bis zur fertigen Vergrößerung.

Photographer .brade has been working with classic darkroom techniques for over thirty years and is sharing his extensive experience in a multi-day workshop on the RA-4 color process as part of the p: berlin academy.

The workshop is aimed at photographers who want to produce color prints in the classic way. Previous knowledge from the b/w lab is helpful, but not essential. The basics of analog color photography are taught, materials and equipment are introduced and the whole process is tested in practice. The aim is to convey an in-depth understanding of color processes in the analog laboratory - from theory to the finished enlargement.

The workshop will take place at the p: berlin laboratories in Berlin-Schöneweide, registration see link in bio.
