Since 2007, I have been deeply involved in professional travel, archi

tecture, and landscape photography, which led me to establish my project "Håggard Photography" in 2010. Since then, I have primarily focused on photographing hotels, restaurants, and event venues in the architectural field, catering to various print and online media, and dedicating my assignments to documentary photography in the industrial and construction sectors, as well as at events, fairs, and corporate meetings. Achievements
In addition to commissioned photography, I strive to work on my personal photo series for balance and spend as much time as possible in various countries. Selected series from Scandinavia, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, Japan, and Venice have already been featured in reputable national and international photography magazines. My work has been recognized with the Sony World Photography Award in the Landscape category, the International Photography Award, the Monochrome Award, and the German Photography Prize as Photographer of the Year. In addition to being shortlisted for the Felix Schoeller Photo Awards, I have been a finalist and contender for the European Professional Photographer of the Year Award and have been nominated for awards such as the B&W Spider Awards and the International Color Awards. Photo Tours, Workshops, and Seminars
Over the past 10 years, I have had the privilege of introducing my approach to photography to photo enthusiasts, from beginners to advanced hobbyists and even professional photographers, through my photo workshops and 1:1 training sessions. It is the numerous detailed experiences and accumulated knowledge in the field of photography that I am particularly keen on sharing with curious and motivated photography enthusiasts. Every year, I lead approximately 30-35 fully booked photography courses in various parts of the world, such as my hometown Berlin, along the rugged coasts on the islands of Sylt and Rügen, or in remote Japan, to name just a few destinations. In my photography workshops, I primarily focus on guiding participants through my personal journey from developing a fleeting image idea to creating an effective composition, selecting necessary and optimal photo equipment tailored to individual needs, understanding technical details, and capturing the perfect photo for display, captivating and inspiring future viewers. My task is to provide individualized support to all participants on an equal footing and to foster their photographic knowledge in the areas of minimalist architecture and landscape photography, along with all their creative niches, through easily understandable explanations and processes. Other Projects
As part of my professional journey, I have established myself not only as a photographer and course instructor but also as the author of two photographic textbooks in which I share my expertise and passion for photography. These books, which have been reissued for the third time, not only reflect my enthusiasm for art and photography but also offer practical insights, guidance, and tips for aspiring and advanced photographers. Additionally, I have been proudly serving as a co-photographer and brand ambassador for the renowned filter manufacturer Haida since 2019, and between 2020 and 2021, I expanded the Samyang community as a brand ambassador.

📍 A few years ago in Berlin …
One of my very first infrared photographs - captured at the Bismarck National Monument at Großer Stern in Berlin using an infrared filter from .
Infrared photography reveals a world beyond what our eyes can normally see. By capturing infrared light instead of visible light, green foliage transforms into bright white tones, creating dreamy and almost surreal landscapes.
The Bismarck Memorial is the perfect subject for this technique, framed by the trees of the Tiergarten and surrounded by nature that completely changes its appearance in infrared.
I know this image looks a little different from my usual work, but I love exploring new creative approaches and stepping outside my comfort zone. Even when experimenting with new techniques, I always try to stay true to my own visual style and artistic signature.
Exploring this fascinating genre has opened up a whole new perspective for me, and I’m already planning something special: an infrared photography workshop in Berlin.
If you would like to discover how to create these unique images yourself, stay tuned. I’ll share more details soon - and I’d love to see some of you joining me on this journey into the invisible world of infrared photography.

📍 A few months ago in Busan …
At first glance, finding a composition for these two sculptures seemed like it would be easy. After all, they stand along one of Busan’s long, open beaches, surrounded by plenty of space. But sometimes too much freedom can make a composition even more challenging.
After walking up and down the kilometers of shoreline, searching for the right perspective, I finally decided to include the mountain landscape in the background. The misty hills and soft layers of the terrain create an atmosphere that feels distinctly Asian to me - timeless, calm, and deeply connected to nature.
The two sculptures themselves are fascinating subjects. The Leaping Man, standing gracefully in the water, contrasts beautifully with the dynamic energy of the elegant Red Lady, frozen in a moment of motion. Together, they create a dialogue between stillness and movement.
These artworks are also another reminder that South Koreans seem to have a special appreciation for placing interesting artistic elements directly in the water. And for photographers who love minimalist long exposures, that combination of art, sea, and atmosphere is hard to resist.

📍 A few years ago in Japan …
I simply can’t get enough of the Nori farms in Japan. Once I find a promising field and all the conditions come together - tides, weather, light, and atmosphere - time seems to disappear. Hours pass in what feels like minutes as I wander through the area, searching for new compositions and different ways to tell the story of this fascinating landscape.
What makes photographing these farms so special is also what makes it challenging. The window of opportunity is always limited. Because of the tides, the farms need a very specific water level to become truly photogenic. Too much water and the structures lose their visual impact; too little and the reflections and patterns disappear.
That constant race against time, combined with the ever-changing conditions, makes every successful image feel even more rewarding. And no matter how many times I visit, I always discover something new.

📍 A few weeks ago in Leidschendam …
While exploring the Netherlands during one of our photography workshops, this shot of the Petrus en Pauluskerk in Leidschendam came almost by accident. We were on our way to another location when this place suddenly appeared - and I had to stop.
What immediately caught my attention was how the church sits right at the water’s edge. That simple placement transforms the scene into something far more powerful than you would expect at first glance. With the right perspective and a long exposure approach, everyday surroundings can turn into something almost timeless.
This is exactly what I try to teach in my workshops: you don’t always need dramatic locations - you need awareness, patience, and the ability to see potential in what others might overlook.
Sometimes the most special images are found when you’re not even looking for them.

📍 A few weeks ago in Zaanse Schans …
For the second time, I had the chance to photograph one of the most iconic spots in Zaanse Schans — and this time, I finally managed to capture the scene exactly how I imagined it, including the complete bridge leading into this beautiful composition.
Sometimes it takes returning to a place more than once to truly create the image you carried in your mind for a long time. The quiet atmosphere, the timeless windmills, and the soft light made this moment feel incredibly special again.
While editing this photograph, I also wrote a short poem that carries a much deeper meaning for me.
You were the house I longed to find,
The quiet place that calmed my mind.
Now every road feels cold and far,
Yet home remains where your memories are.

📍 South Korea / Germany …
During our scouting trip through South Korea in March this year, we randomly met - and we instantly connected through our shared passion for photography.
Not long after, I had the idea to exchange a few RAW files with each other, simply to see how differently we would approach the same moments, maybe discover new ideas, and share our individual visions and editing styles.
So we did exactly that - and this is one of the photos he sent me. It was such an inspiring experience to work on someone else’s capture while still trying to stay true to my own artistic perspective.
I intentionally edited this image much brighter than the original file to emphasize the clarity, openness, and almost graphic nature of the scene. The light tones help reduce distractions and keep the focus on the structure itself rather than the surrounding elements.
My intention was also to let the zigzag lines of the pier lead far into the distance - almost dissolving into infinity. I wanted the composition to feel endless, as if the structure continues beyond what the eye can actually see.
It’s one of those locations we would have absolutely loved to discover during one of our scouting trips - a place that feels simple at first glance, but reveals strong visual potential the longer you look at it.
I’m incredibly grateful that he trusted me with some of his images and allowed me to be part of this creative exchange. Experiences like these remind me how photography can connect people from completely different parts of the world through the same emotions, light, and atmosphere.
Thank you so much, my friend 🙏

📍 One year ago in Venice …
After many years of photographing Venice, I finally experienced Palazzo Tetta exactly the way I had always imagined it - surrounded by dense February fog during my long stay in Venice last year. In that quiet atmosphere, the palace almost seemed to disappear into another time, where only soft shapes, reflections, and silence remained. For me, this is the moment when Palazzo Tetta reveals its true character.
Like many palaces in Venice, it carries the feeling of faded grandeur and hidden stories behind its windows - something that becomes even more visible when the city is wrapped in fog.
The soft light, the still water, and the almost monochrome atmosphere created a scene I had waited years for. Venice always feels timeless to me, but on mornings like this, it feels completely detached from reality.

📍 A few months ago in South Korea …
We discovered this minimalist scene while scouting along the coast of South Korea. 🇰🇷🌊
Captured in the harsh midday sun - conditions that many photographers would usually avoid. But moments like these prove that even under the “worst” light, beautiful minimalist images can still be created.
Many parts of the South Korean coastline are filled with fishing traps, nets, and old structures that work perfectly as subjects for long exposure photography. By extending time through long exposures, the chaotic movement of the water turns into calm and simplicity, allowing shapes, lines, and textures to stand out even more.
For me, this is one of the most fascinating aspects of long exposure photography: transforming ordinary scenes into atmospheric and almost surreal moments of silence.
