This time, we visited an abandoned section of a massive university hospital. Directly beneath the roof is the former operating room, where students once practiced on a “live subject” all at the same time. What makes this room particularly special is the view of the city. One floor below is an auditorium preserved in its original state from the GDR era. This room fascinated me in particular. I wonder how many people studied on those hard wooden chairs and are still helping others today?

BallsaalLiebe. I visited an abandoned dance hall once again. It’s hard to see the beauty of this space, as it has been extensively remodeled. The last time it was in use, the building was a swingers’ club.

I visited an abandoned hospital again. This time, it wasn't one of those modern hospitals, but a somewhat older one. I really liked it. I especially liked the old operating room. Do you find hospitals like that interesting, too?

At first glance, it’s hard to imagine that this is an abandoned place. But upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that this house has been deserted for many years. Once again, the question arises: why was everything left behind? What gives me particular pause is that all the personal belongings—including photos—are still there in the rooms. Was there no one who felt responsible for these remnants? I think many of you will recognize some of these items from your own past.

Today part two of this unique Location. During this excursion, I visited an abandoned explosives factory. Production had been taking place here since the days of the GDR. Work continued on the site even after reunification. Now, the massive factory stands abandoned. It is a very diverse abandoned site; you can admire relics from different eras, including large factory halls as well as small offices and laboratories.

Once again, I sneaked onto the property unnoticed and found a way into this former teachers’ college. Every single visit here was breathtaking and wonderful. And there was always something new to discover. That era is now coming to an end; the property is being meticulously maintained, and efforts are underway to renovate it with an eye toward the future.
