In October 2022 I had the opportunity to film the Excalibur geotechnical jack-up barge. Fugro's Excalibur is an impressive vessel used for wind turbine construction and maintenance, seabed investigation and surveying. Demonstrating the barge's imposing size and cutting-edge technology, this drone video gives us a glimpse into the workings of this platform and shows how valuable seafloor investigation and surveying is to our understanding of the ocean and the planet as a whole.
