This shot was taken in South Africa in a forest full of trees, ferns, and - of course - cacti. I changed the colors a bit to create a magical and gloomy atmosphere. I really feel the magic in this picture and I hope you do, too.

I took this picture yesterday during a walk through the beautiful by my phone. I was inspired by these old roots, resembling the remnants of a long-extinct organism, resting in the dusk light.🌄

, located in Namibia's Namib-Naukluft National Park, is a surreal, ancient clay pan surrounded by ancient red dunes. It’s known for its ghostly, petrified camel thorn trees, estimated to be over 900 years old. The lack of moisture in the desert has preserved these trees, giving the landscape a mysterious, otherworldly feel. Once a thriving oasis, the area's water supply was cut off by shifting sand dunes, leaving a stunning contrast of blackened trees, white clay, and red sand.

💀Deadvlei Part 1
This ancient tree is a part of , an old clay pan located between the red dunes on the Namib desert.
These trees remind one of the power of nature to create art that thrives even in the face of desolation.
As one may notice by the many footsteps, the dune behind this tree was the "straight way down" option after a tiring dune climb I talked about in one of my previous posts.
