Another Australian iconic bird: the Australian White Ibis. It is admirable how these large birds endure the heat during breeding season with their chicks sitting in the nest often in the plain sun. Ibises are also called „bin chicken“ in urban areas as they „forage“ food in bins and restaurant tables (location: Redcliffe / Queensland / Australia).

This kookaburra - or laughing jackass as it is also called, is certainly one of Australia‘s iconic birds. It belongs to the species of tree kingfishers. There is even a children‘s song called: Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree (location: Gin Gin / Queensland / Australia).

Stork alarm! It took me quite a while to find them, following one stork for an hour by foot through the wild. I sat with the on the field for a while. All together there were more 20 storks. Wonderful experience.
