[🇬🇧English below] Tohle jsem musel prozkoumat.

🇬🇧 At first glance, it looks terrifying. Thousands of fish heads hang from huge wooden racks out in the open. But on the Lofoten Islands, this isn’t a tourist attraction. It’s a centuries-old method of preserving cod. Thanks to the cold Arctic wind and the salty sea air, the fish heads dry naturally over several months—without salt or chemicals. They are then exported mainly to West Africa, where they are considered a valuable source of food. The unique climate of the Lofoten Islands is what makes this one of the few places in the world where this tradition still survives today.
