Naše poslední zastávka na líbánkách… a zároveň jedno z nejdrsnějších míst celé cesty.

37 °C, bezvětří, prach všude. Klimatizace bojovala statečně, ale marně. Naše dodávka byla na konci o několik odstínů světlejší než na začátku 😄

Lago di Braies felt both familiar and different this time. The views are still as impressive as ever, yet something felt a bit off. Maybe it was the low water level. Maybe it was the endless stream of tourists. The place seemed to have lost a bit of its soul.

Kryštof enjoyed every moment of our walk around the lake in his Sapling and eventually fell asleep on the way back to the car. Moments like this remind me why I love exploring with my family. Excited for everything that is waiting for us on our next adventure.

🇨🇿: Po několika letech jsme se znovu vrátili k Lago di Braies. Výhledy jsou pořád nádherné, ale místo na mě působilo trochu prázdně. Možná kvůli nízké hladině vody. Možná kvůli davům turistů. Něco mi tam chybělo. Kryštof si procházku užil naplno a v nosítku krásně usnul. Těším se na naše další rodinné dobrodružství.

Když rodiče na chvíli vymění noční uspávání za večeři při svíčkách, vznikne z toho skvělý večer v v rámci .

Od amuse-bouche až po švestkový crumble to byla jízda chutí, kterou jsme si užili do posledního sousta. 🍽️✨

Murchison falls NP saved some of the best moments for last. With help from a field scientist, we spotted this elusive lion hidden in the grass 🦁. Crossing the flooded Nile was a whole other adventure. After tackling three watery stretches, the longest almost 400 m, we had to turn back through the same deep channels because the river ahead was too high 🚙💦. Back at camp we watched a hippo surface and swim all afternoon until he lumbered onto shore to graze right beside us 🦛. Uganda, thank you for the memories and the lessons 🌍❤️

We hadn’t seen any wildlife for miles, until we turned a corner and almost drove into a family of elephants 🐘. They were so close that we stopped the car and just watched, in awe of their quiet strength. It’s humbling to be reminded that, out here by the Nile in Murchison Falls, you’re just a guest 🌿.

Did you know elephants follow ancient routes to the river to drink and bathe? Their rhythm is timeless, and in those moments, so was ours ✨. What’s been your most memorable wildlife encounter?

I haven’t shared much here lately. We’ve been spending most of our free time together as a family, enjoying the little moments offline. But since Instagram feels a bit like a diary for me, I’d love to start posting a few memories from our recent trips.

We’ll start with a little series from the Stuibenfall waterfall, which is definitely worth a visit.

These photos are from April. We packed up the van and drove through Germany and Austria, all the way to the Italian Dolomites. It was our first time using the hiking carrier (in our case Sapling). It made hiking a lot more manageable, although much more physically demanding at the same time. 😅

Kryštof absolutely loved it. We came back home tired, happy and with some beautiful memories that will stay with us for a long time.

More photos from this trip are coming soon. After that, I’ll take you to Spain, where we explored the northern coast in early July.

Encountering mountain gorillas in Uganda’s Bwindi National Park is one of those experiences that’s truly hard to describe with words. 🦍🌿 We visited the Mukiza group, one of the largest families in the area, named after the silverback male. The gorillas were so close that they literally stepped on our feet at times! 😲 It amazed me how peacefully they go about their daily lives deep in the rainforest. I’m happy that our visit helps support the protection of these incredible animals, of which only a little over 1,000 remain in the world.

Encountering giraffes in Uganda’s Murchison Falls NP. I’m always fascinated by how these animals manage not to break their incredibly long necks, how they effortlessly munch on acacia trees covered with teaspoon-sized thorns, run at surprising speeds, or fold themselves into strange positions just to drink. Africa is simply amazing! 🦒🌍 What animals do you want to see in next photos?

🌿 Sipi Falls – Uganda’s Hidden Treasure! 💧 After a 50-minute trek from our campsite, we reached this incredible waterfall. The journey was full of life – locals grow coffee, bananas, and beans right along the path on steep slopes. Did you know that Sipi Falls consists of three cascades, with a total height exceeding 100 meters? This photo captures the final cascade of the waterfall. 🌄 Every now and then, a piece of rock breaks off and destroys everything in its path. Although the locals are forbidden from building their homes beneath the cliff, a few still live there, praying that falling boulders won’t crush their huts. Shot on Z9 + nikon Z 24-70 + GO3S.

Snovač – drobný ptáček, který dokáže postavit mistrovská hnízda i na těch nejneobvyklejších místech. Tento strom plný hnízd se nacházel přímo nad vodou, kde číhalo několik krokodýlů. Další z nezapomenutelných momentů z Ugandy. Zachyceno na Z9 + Z70-200 f/2.8.
