Story time! I have a van for a few last weeks and me and Margherita decided to finally use it. We took double mattress, chucked it in the back (fitted spot on!) and decided to head west for Dartmoor National Park for some bouldering. Quick stop at Alan's who kindly borrowed his crash mat and some more essentials for a weekend on the sharp granite of the Moors (Cheers Buddy!!) and off we go. Couple hours drive later we park at the Burrator Reservoir build up our base camp and after a dinner cooked on fire head for the sheets. Morning greets us with fantastic sunshine (blinding! if you sleep inside of a van without windows). At the car park on which we camp we get to chat with Darren a local bouldering pro. He gives us a few tips where to go and sure enough we end up climbing together at the Downtor. We climb a few slabs some cracks and attempt ridiculously hard V1s (Which only Darren sent, well done mate!). Then we move to a different set of rock to have a bit of a go on a V5 which was a lot of fun even without the satisfaction of topping out. After climb we meet Maxi, take a walk around mirror-like Burrator Reservoir, do some shopping and cook the best burgers of my life on an old frying pan straight on the fire. Next day after refreshing morning "swim" in nearby stream (around 7°C) we enjoy sunny climb and chill at the Coockoo Rocks after which we go to pay a visit to my dear friend Angela at Duskhunter Cottage Garden where we have a absolute blast of an evening together with Michael and his son. Next day was in the vibe of pure relaxation. We took off in the late morning for Mothecombe Beach where we stayed till the sunset enjoying the absolute beauty of the place and warm sunshine. Another trip is a must in the near future!!!
