This power plant is located in Drogenbos, right next to Anderlecht. In fact, it was a tiny detail in the left of the last post!
The site has been used for electricity production since 1911, but this particular station was commissioned in 1994. Its particularity resides in its about 100.000 leds, which can change colours and depict various animations.

Shot with a 150mm on an Intrepid 4x5 camera, Ilford delta 100 developed in Kodak TMAX, split grade printing.

Following the canal, you arrive at the sluice gate of Anderlecht. Two waterways form today what is known as the Brussels canal, and this one goes from Brussels to Charleroi.

Building the original northern canal was ordered by royal decree and finished in 1561. The Senne (the river flowing through Brussels) was so difficult to navigate, being narrow, shallow and twisty, that this work was much needed for commercial navigation. Construction for the second one was achieved in steps throughout the XIX and XX century.
