🇬🇧 Monkwood - Hampshire - England
The English countryside continues to amaze me, during the ‘Red Sun’ day I took many photographs but this one was special to me; it released a strong feeling of wonder, I never dreamt this kind of scene was possible, it makes you wonder what else you haven’t dreamt of that is possible. Follow your dreams and make sure to dream big. The possibilities in our wonderful universe are endless.

“Choice”
When Puka (In the photograph) came down for lunch he looked at me with the same look any man, woman or child gives the cafeteria lady in a lunch hall at places of work and schools. What’s for lunch?? After offering him the what I call ‘choice fruit’ he calmly let me sit by him whilst he ate, I took this photo then sat down and had a ‘choice fruit’ of my own. Monkeys should be given as much freedom in this world as us, I like to think that give 100-200 years someone like me will be able to sit down with one of Puka’s descendants and that they will be able to converse about the world around them. I think that for this hope alone we should all do our part in the conservation of life.

‘Wonder’
“I wonder what he wonders.”
This little guy made me realise that us humans and monkeys are more alike than we think, my comparison of us to monkeys lies in the definition of the word ‘wonder’.
I have recently been studying Intelligent Systems and how does one go about proving that a machine is intelligent or that we are intelligent. But after meeting this guy I believe the question should be, can you make a machine ‘Wonder’?
Wonder - A feeling of amazement and admiration, caused by something beautiful, remarkable or unfamiliar.
Wonder - A desire to know something - to feel curious.

“Wonder” - I wonder what he wonders.
There’s many ways we can compare ourself with chimps (we share 85-95% of our DNA with them) but the one I felt which was the most connecting comparison is none other than their Facial Expressions. Since I have 3 siblings 2 of which are younger than me, there have been many times in my life where I’ve seen this expression, the expression of innocence and wonder.
I wonder what he wonders.

🇰🇭 Angkor Wat - Cambodia
- The Gallery within the temple.
A young monk admiring the carvings of one of the 8 different Hindu stories depicted on over 1200 square metres of carved bas relief (Method of Carving).
The monks do not live in the temple but as the temple was once an important Buddhist shrine, a visit here is a pilgrimage for these monk, they visit from all over Cambodia and the rest of the world!

🇰🇭 Angkor Wat - Cambodia
- Vishnu
At the western entrance of Angkor Wat stands this 5M tall statue of Vishnu locally known as ‘Ta Reach’, revered by Hindus and Buddhists alike for its representation of the “king of the ancestors and spirits”. It is carved from a single piece of sandstone!
The temple was dedicated to Vishnu who is the supreme god in the Vaishnavite tradition of Hinduism and venerated as one of the five primary forms of god. When Angkor Wat became a Buddhist temple the head of Vishnu was replaced with the head of Buddha.
