🇬🇧The jackdaw (Coloeus monedula) is one of the most intelligent members of the crow family. Recognisable by its striking pale eyes and silvery-grey nape, it is a highly social bird that often forms lifelong pair bonds. Small in size, but rich in personality and intelligence.

The Great Spotted Woodpecker is one of our most distinctive woodpeckers, with its striking black-and-white plumage and bright red markings. 🐦 Its powerful beak is perfectly adapted for tapping into tree trunks and searching for insects beneath the bark. 🔨

The Peregrine Falcon is the fastest bird in the world, reaching speeds of over 300 km/h (186 mph) during hunting dives. Juvenile falcons have browner, more streaked feathers than adults, helping them stay camouflaged while they learn to hunt and master flight. Their first year is full of practice — watching their parents, improving their aerial skills, and slowly becoming true masters of the sky.

A Vándorsólyom a világ leggyorsabb madara – zuhanórepülés közben akár 300 km/h fölötti sebességet is elérhet. A fiatal, juvenilis sólymok tollazata barnásabb és csíkosabb, mint a felnőtteké, ami segít nekik rejtve maradni, amíg megtanulnak tökéletesen vadászni és repülni. Az első évük tele van tanulással: figyelik a szüleiket, gyakorolják a levegőben való manőverezést, és fokozatosan válnak a levegő igazi mestereivé.

This year I was able to capture Eleonora’s falcons in the wild again.
It’s an incredible experience to watch how elegantly and swiftly they move through the air.
