Late afternoon is when TURI completely changes.

As the sun gets lower, the light reaches its deepest point inside the house, filtering through the architecture with warm orange tones that paint the wood and travertine walls. For a short period of time, the materials seem to take on a different color and the shadows become part of the space.

This was the moment I was waiting for when I came back to photograph TURI. Watching that light move across the house and finding the frames where architecture, material and shadow come together.

One of those moments where the light does most of the work.

Seeing Manhattanhenge from Queens completely changed the experience.

Watching the sun align with Manhattan from across the river offered a perspective I wasn’t expecting. The skyline, the light, and the silence made one of New York’s most photographed moments feel surprisingly personal.

Sometimes, all it takes is changing where you stand.

The “Jenga Tower” was one of the projects I wanted to photograph the most in New York.

I visited it several times throughout the day, but the late afternoon was when it truly came alive. As the light moved across the stacked volumes, every corner revealed a different composition. I kept walking around looking for the best angle, only to realize there wasn’t just one.

I had seen this building countless times, but standing in front of it is a completely different experience. The way SANAA stacked such simple volumes somehow makes the museum feel incredibly light, even in the middle of Manhattan. What surprised me this time was seeing OMA’s new expansion beside it. Two completely different architectural languages, yet they complement each other surprisingly well. Moments like this are why I always leave time to simply walk, look up, and pay attention.

DUMBO is probably one of the most photographed corners of New York, yet walking through it still feels special. Every street frames the city differently, and as the sun begins to set, the skyline changes one more time.

Santiago Calatrava has a way of turning structure into the architecture itself, and the Oculus is probably one of the best examples of that.

Before visiting, I expected to photograph an iconic building. What I didn’t expect was how different it feels once you’re inside.

The scale, the way natural light filters through the ribs of the structure, and the constant movement of people completely transform the space. Every few steps reveal a different composition, making it one of those projects where you could easily spend hours with a camera in your hands.

Seeing it in person made me appreciate that this project isn’t only about its sculptural form. It’s about how structure, light, and movement come together to shape the experience of everyone passing through it.

Places like this remind me why I enjoy photographing architecture.

The architecture opens completely toward the landscape, but what caught my attention while photographing it was how the interior never feels secondary. The materials, the proportions and the warm tones create a quiet atmosphere that naturally draws your eye toward the horizon.

As the sun started to drop, the light moved slowly through the rooms, reflecting on the wood surfaces and changing the mood of each space. Every bedroom, terrace and living area feels connected to the surroundings, making the transition between inside and outside almost disappear.

Some projects are memorable because of their scale. Others because of their details. This one stands out because of the way it frames the landscape and makes it part of the daily experience.

One of the things I remember most from this shoot is how easy it was to lose track of time just walking through the property. Every path, every terrace, every change in elevation reveals a different perspective of the architecture and the landscape around it.

As the afternoon progressed, the light began to skim across the stone, the wood and the vegetation, bringing out textures that might go unnoticed at first glance. The house doesn’t compete with its surroundings; it feels like an extension of them. The architecture, landscape and topography work together in a way that makes the entire experience feel natural and effortless.

Projects like this remind me that sometimes the most powerful images come from slowing down, observing, and letting the place reveal itself.

There’s something really special about photographing a house that feels completely tied to the land around it. Nothing here feels forced. The architecture sits naturally between the rocks, the trees, the slope, and the ocean in the background, almost like it had always belonged there.

What I enjoyed the most while shooting this project was how the light kept changing every corner throughout the afternoon. The shadows from the trees moving across the walls, the reflections on the water, the warmth of the wood against the dry landscape… every space felt calm and intentional without trying too hard.

You can tell there was an incredible amount of attention put into the landscape and how the house connects with its surroundings. Walking through it felt more like moving through nature than through a traditional home.
