Throwback Thursday. 2009! This photo will forever be special to me! This was the first framed photo that I sold. I used to own a store in Jamaica Plain on Centre St, called Serene Vibes (you can see some products behind me) and on the first Thursday of the month, the stores in the area would host artists in their store allowing them to display their art, photos, etc in the store. One particular time, I decided to put my photos up in the store. A guy came in and looked at my photos and said, he and his wife travel the world buying art. He looked at this particular photo and said, I love that photo and would like to buy it. I was so exited! I've had my photos in galleries, restaurants, etc, but for some reason, this particular guy buying my framed photo seemed like the best thing ever! I remember the feeling and moment so vividly! Oh, and by the way, fun fact, my nature photography business back then was called "Serene Vibes Photography". 😄☺️

Learn to photograph the small wonders of nature at Mount Auburn Cemetery! A location with great macro opportunities! This workshop will take place on Sunday, Aug 23, 9am-12:30pm. Registration required.

During this workshop you will learn about settings, lighting (natural light and flash), composition, additional equipment and more to help you get the best results, when photographing insects and flowers. To register, please click the link below. https://www.naturemanmike.com/event-details/macro-photography-workshop

This workshop is intended for people with a DSLR, mirrorless camera or bridge camera.

What to bring:
Camera
Macro lens
*Flash
*Flash diffuser
*If you don't have a flash, that's fine. A flash will be ideal for some scenarios, but you can get by without it for the most part. I will cover both natural light and flash, so it would be helpful to you if you have one.

Optional item:
A small stool if bending for periods of time isn't comfortable for you.

For this workshop, we will be shooting handheld, so a tripod isn't necessary

More birds photographed at Mass Audubon Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary. I'm not sure about the last photo. It's either a juvenile Eastern Towhee or juvenile House Finch. I was only able to get a few photos from the back before it took off and I'm not sure exactly. 🤔

Ruby-throated Hummingbirds photographed at Mass Audubon Ipswich River. There were several hummingbirds flying around, chasing one another, perching and feeding. A lot of activity during my visit! One adult male with the red throat and the rest I believe are immature.
