📍 Havana’s Old Town , Cuba - January 2025

Capturing this shot was a three-year journey through the heart of Havana. During my first year, I attempted the official route to gain access to the ballet school, but I spent two full days lost in a bureaucratic maze of administrative offices, each one claiming they did not handle such requests. By the second year, I had almost given up until I stayed at a BnB where the host’s daughter was a high-level ballet student. I tried to organize an impromptu session for my workshop students, but the dancer I approached was too busy, and I left Cuba feeling like my mission was unachieved. Finally, on my third trip, everything clicked. We arranged a session directly with the host’s fifteen-year-old daughter. To secure the perfect setting, I bypassed the official channels and handled things the old-fashioned way with a bit of backshish along the road. It was a win-win for everyone involved, and seeing this final composition makes it easily one of my favorite images from Cuba, born from persistence and the magic of local connections.

Spotting the Jaguar in Pantanal has been one of the most impressive encounter I've ever had. When he start to stare at you with his assassin look, you really feel that he has the ultimate word on who has to live and who has to die. Seeing it in the process of hunting is just a show. This machine is just perfection : power, elegance, discretion.
Pantanal is the place on earth where you have the maximum chance of spotting it, and indeed we could see at least 5 per day.

Nothing in life is ever truly set in stone. While it is easy to feel a sense of nostalgia for the way things used to be, the world around us is in a constant state of evolution. I have learned that we must embrace this change as an opportunity to broaden our horizons and reach for new dreams. Traveling through Colombia, I am constantly reminded that life is defined by its rhythm and its refusal to stand still. We have to keep planning forward, pushing ourselves to see what lies beyond the next corner. Moving ahead, staying in motion, and refusing to stop dreaming are the very things that make us feel alive and vibrant. To me, this image represents that beautiful, restless energy. It is a reminder that we are at our best when we are evolving, allowing the momentum of the journey to carry us toward something new. By keeping our spirits in motion, we do not just exist; we truly vibrate with the pulse of the world.

I am thrilled to finally share a sneak peek of my next big adventure. We are heading to Northern Brazil, a place that holds a very special spot in my heart and is easily one of my favorite regions on the entire planet. There is an undeniable magic in the way the light hits the vast landscapes there, from the dense, life-filled canopies of the rainforest to the surreal, windswept dunes along the coast. This part of the country offers a raw and authentic beauty that is a dream for any photographer to capture. I have been working hard behind the scenes to curate an incredible itinerary for this new tour, which is officially set to launch next year. It is going to be an immersive experience focused on the vibrant culture and breathtaking natural wonders that make this region so unique. I cannot wait to share more about the specific locations we will be visiting together. For now, keep an eye out for more updates as we get closer to the date. Stay tuned!

Leading my first bird photography expedition in Colombia recently was an experience that far exceeded my wildest expectations. For years, I had struggled to capture the perfect hummingbird shot, as their lightning-fast movements make them notoriously difficult to keep in focus. However, the region around Cali is a photographer’s paradise where the conditions are so ideal that the challenge shifts from getting the shot to managing the sheer volume of high-quality images. I found myself returning each day with over a thousand astonishing photos, a bounty so rich it felt almost overwhelming to curate. This particular image of a Velvet Coronet was captured at Doña Dora, a location where the natural beauty and accessibility allow for truly intimate encounters with these vibrant creatures. It represents a breakthrough moment for me, transforming a long-standing technical challenge into a rewarding narrative of color and precision.

Last September, I had the pleasure of leading a slow-travel journey through Madeira, Portugal, with a group of returning clients who have truly become friends. This wasn’t a rigid photography tour; instead, we embraced a sense of total freedom, focusing on simply being present at the island’s most beautiful locations. We spent our days hiking and our mornings enjoying sunrise breakfasts at stunning viewpoints, often ending the day with a glass of wine as the sun dipped below the horizon. Traveling as a small private group in a rental car gave us the flexibility to pivot our plans whenever the weather turned, ensuring we always found the perfect spot for the moment. One such place was the Fanal Forest, an ancient and magical woodland that we were lucky enough to visit twice. Seeing it under different conditions was a luxury, but it is the thick, rolling mist that truly brings this forest to life. In this image, the fog wraps around the twisted trees, creating the ethereal, mysterious atmosphere that makes this island so unforgettable.

Torres del Paine is easily one of the most breathtaking parks I have ever visited. This past March, during my final Patagonia tour in Chile, we rented a car and spent four incredible days camping directly in front of these towering natural monuments. Our daily routine was simple yet perfect: breakfast with a view of the peaks, long picnics, good wine, and, of course, plenty of photography. In this part of the world, the weather is notoriously unpredictable, and for a while, it seemed like the elements were against us. We were feeling a bit anxious about the conditions, but nature was simply saving its best surprises for the golden hours. This particular moment was one of those rare, unforgettable displays of light that reminds you why you are here on earth. I will never forget this sunset, and I can't wait to get back there ! 💫

As I prepare to launch my first bird photography tour in just a few days, I wanted to introduce you to one of the true stars of our upcoming adventure: the Andean Cock-of-the-rock. This bird is a photographer’s dream, instantly recognizable by its brilliant, almost neon-orange plumage and that iconic fan-shaped crest that gives it such a prehistoric, otherworldly appearance. We are heading to Colombia, which is widely celebrated as the premier destination for bird photography in the world. Boasting the highest bird diversity on the planet, Colombia offers a breathtaking array of endemic species and vibrant landscapes that provide the perfect backdrop for our work. From the misty cloud forests where these birds perform their elaborate lek dances to the lush, biodiverse valleys, every corner of this country feels like a new discovery. I am incredibly excited to get behind the lens and witness these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat as we kick off this journey together.

Returning to Nabusimake in Colombia's Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta nearly ten years after my first visit was a profound experience. I was struck by how physically unchanged the village remained, even as the internal landscape of the people had shifted. For three nights, I stayed in the home of a dear friend’s family, surrendering to a life of pure simplicity. We lived alongside the animals, moving to the rhythm of the earth and leaving our modern concerns at the door. Throughout the stay, I faced a constant dilemma between capturing the incredible scenes around me and respecting the authentic energy of the moment. Without the pressure of leading a photography tour, I chose to simply be present and enjoy the magic of that window of time. However, on our final morning, I saw stunning beams of light filtering into the kitchen and couldn't resist asking my friend’s uncle for a few frames. I believe this image perfectly distills the quiet, soulful spirit of our entire experience there.
