Paul Green - Somewhere Else In October 2021 I had an idea to ride around the world. One week later cancer was found in my eye, followed by two years of therapy and surgeries.

Now, in 2024 I am making the dream of riding a motorcycle around the world a reality, with one eye less.

I stopped an extra night in Mocoa to do this hike to Fin Del Mundo. There was a big storm at midnight, and it rained until 8:30 am, so the path was extra slippery, and I’m not as fit as I tell myself I am. Well worth the effort.

Venice Street scenes.
1. A man rides his skate board over a large BLM sign painted on the road, powered by a Pittbull, in front of a derelict church.
2. Two topless tourists take selfies in matching shorts in front of a Venice sign, as a homeless person walks across the sand. I know they are tourists, because the locals, and me, are in coats or long sleeve tops, as it only just 20 degrees C.

Navajo Nation.

I rode down from the Grand Canyon to Flagstaff AZ to pick something up, and was surprised to find myself at 2400 meters and quite chilly, the city itself sitting at over 2000 meters and full of pine trees and snow playgrounds.

I then headed north on the 89 and watched as the tress became grass, and the grass became sand, as I entered the Navajo Nation and a whole new landscape.

I love the desert landscapes, there is so much more to see, and so much further to see.
