What a weekend. JAPFEST.PL | Festiwal 🇯🇵 Tor Poznań.
Beware, a lot of text below!
So this one was kind of an unusual event for me. First of all, I left the event not very satisfied with my photos. For some reason I had a tough time with consistency and with my camera's performance, something wrong was in the air and I'm not very happy with the results.
BUUUUT, so many other good things happened, much more important.
1) I had a chance to meet Keiichi Tsuchiya (Tsuchiya ) - or probably better known as Drift King. I've never thought that I'd get such a chance. I'm infinitely thankful to JAPFEST organizers for such an opportunity. Probably it was one of once in a lifetime kind of thing. I did not even plan on coming to the event due to a pretty busy schedule, but after I saw an announcement that the Drift King will be there, I had no choice.
2) Got a cool piece from SevenStars for DK to sign (I was totally unprepared xD).
3) Got to see Nissan Skyline Hakosuka for the first time in real life. Even though the car was covered until a reveal, it was hardly a surprise as the shape was an instant give away of what's under.
4) Made a friend while waiting in a queue for DK. Hey l0fi.life Let's meet sometime and talk some more PS1 racing games! And thanks again for photos!
5) Got myself the first volume of Initial D from J.P.Fantastica - I just could not pass it up, had to grab one, though the rest of the collection I intend to complete in English. :D
6) Browsed through some Japanese music CDs and found something interesting. I had no clue who this artist was, but I recently started getting back into CDs and sampling, this is a good material for that.
7) Had a lot of fun watching Saturday's auction and bidding fights.
8) I had a quick look at my photos after the event, and while the ones that I thought were pretty good did not turn out very well, I studied and analyzed my mistakes and made some conclusions.
I would like to separately thank JAPFEST for raising awareness on mental wellbeing. I'm no stranger to this topic, and I believe that this topic is way too often overlooked.
