My bride’s screensaver since August and now also selected for Junebug Weddings Best of the Best Destination Photo Collection 2026 from thousands of images submitted by photographers around the world.

I never thought this would be my reality, I’m pinching myself again today. 15 years ago I was bedridden, dreaming of sunsets and stars. Today I’m watching the weather, hoping for another night of stargazing with my next couple.

Having spent the last days judging for Legend Awards I have the tiniest glimpse into how difficult these selections must have been, which makes this recognition feel even more meaningful.

Congratulations to so many photographers I admire, learn from, and am lucky enough to call friends. I loved seeing the work that was selected this year.

The lake felt so crowded when we arrived descending from cliffside restaurant Aescher, as if the parking lot were right next to it. At dinner time, it started to empty out.
