Probably The Most Beautiful Train Ride

I took the night train from Gornergrat to Zermatt, watching the sunset over the majestic Matterhorn. The sky was full of beautiful colors, and the train’s sounds made it a relaxing trip. The view was truly iconic and calming.

It’s one of nature’s most mesmerizing spectacles: thousands of starlings moving in perfect synchrony in an aerial ballet, known as murmuration. This phenomenon gets its name from the low humming sound their wings create in flight.

Scientists believe they murmurate to avoid predators, as the unpredictable patterns make it harder for birds on the edge of the flock to get picked up. Witnessing this for the first time was incredible, and I’m glad I captured at least the end of this dance.

Enjoy breathtaking views, including the iconic Rainbow Bridge! At night, the bridge’s illuminated pillars create a mesmerizing sight, making this ride a truly hypnotizing experience with great opportunities for stunning photos along the way.
