Zooming Forward

We started with A.

We made it all the way to Z.

From Live Events to Postproduction, Workflow Creation to Retouching — and everything in between.

But creativity doesn’t stop at the last letter.

It continues in every project, every shoot, every edit, every idea.

So yes — the Alphabet Challenge is complete.

But we're already looking forward to what's next.

For the 30th time, Winterthur will be transformed into a short film hub.

Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur (3–8 November 2026) presents thematic programmes, competitions and a brand-new opening performance with Dino Brandão.

To mark the anniversary, the spotlight is on the cinema itself: The Focus: For the Love of Cinema is a love letter to film.
The programmes explore how moving images are made, how they move us, and how they shape our perception of the world.
With Shifting Grounds – Framing Iran, one of this year’s Focus programmes is dedicated to Iranian filmmaking.
Six programmes bring together themes ranging from the imagery of oil to issues of identity, self-determination, and diverse forms of resistance.
Things get inevitably uncomfortable and quite human in Embrace the Cringe: eight films take us on an emotional rollercoaster leading from second-hand embarrassment, awkward conversations, and first crushes all the way to internet and political cringe.
