Cyprian sunrises in September is the best way to describe our holidays last week.

Staying initially in Softades with a beach villa to ourselves, we lounged by the pool and adjusted to this new downtime. It has been a busy summer since launching Elevated Life Switzerland with .

One day, we drove out and visited Nicosia stepping over the border into Lefkosa. There we discovered Orthodox churches and mosques alongside modern architecture. I was able to feed my ongoing obsession with doors and alleyways. The highlight for me was Rüstem Kitabevi, a bookshop with an art gallery and an amazing restaurant along with of course so many books.

We then moved down the island and inland to stay at the Minthis Resort. A place filled with views, quietness and brutalist architecture. I woke early; for me this is unusual but the sunrises were truly too spectacular to miss.

From our base, we visited ancient ruins, beach clubs and monasteries. Lunch and evening, restaurants with no menus offered us nothing more than a meat or vegetarian meze. I have now filled my annual quote for seafood.

Now, back to work.

A beautiful blue snug is where I want to curl up and enjoy those autumn evenings that are starting to creep in.

Eleanor Richardson's latest article for Homes & Gardens looks at designers swapping grey out for pale blue, and Sofia Clara, Lausanne & London's snug in an 18th-century house on Lake Geneva makes the case, a blue pulled from the original hand-painted wallpaper on these walls. It might even be a Zuber, what do you think?

Pale, powdery blues are hard to hold true in a photograph. They warm up at midday and turn cold and grey by late afternoon if you let the available light decide. This room was lit with flash and scrims to keep the blue true, steady against the warmth of the floorboards, the jute rug and the antique furniture, regardless of what the sky was doing outside.

Elevenses, from the archives.

Once you spot it, you’ll see it everywhere: coffee in almost every interior shot. A single cup on a bench, two on a tray, a whole coffee station built into the cabinetry and even cake!

A tiny styling detail with the biggest job. You get an idea of the scale, your eye lands somewhere. There’s a person in the room without ever showing one. Someone was just here, and stepped away before the frame was shot.

A little confession: I don’t actually drink coffee. No caffeine needed on this side of the camera.

Nearly hit 40°C yesterday and I bet your algorithm is full with pools and ice cream.

The alternative: a picture pull from the archives. Not entirely keeping in line with the weather but spaces filled with stone, plaster, bone and linen just have me feeling a little cooler already.

The bright sunlight is filtered and it’s the palette that does the heavy lifting for me.

Ooops - it’s been a while, a very long while.

And yes, I will admit I have been a little distracted and not just by beautiful gardens.

Since late last year, I have been working on various projects. You might have even noticed some hints along the way. Now at last, I have a moment to get to my Haute’Xposure account and give a bit of an update.

In the past month and a half, there have been two big launches in which I have been involved.

The first one is Elevated Life Switzerland. Together with my husband, we have launched a property advisory in the Swiss Alps. Dave has been in the real estate industry over the past ten years specifically in the Valais region and more specifically in Verbier. He will be selling the properties; me I will continue doing what I have always done: taking photos, making videos and of course managing the socials for Elevated Life Switzerland. The great part of this new business is getting to hang out with one of my most favourite people.

The second project is she·chats. Working with and , this is a community for female entrepreneurs. At the moment, we are based in Verbier, Val de Bagnes but already we are looking at other locations in Valais to share our community. Our first meet-up was great fun and I am super excited about this launch and those meet-ups to follow.

I’m heading down to Geneva later in the week.

Although I haven’t spent the entire winter up in the mountains, there is always a moment towards the end of the season when you start to feel as though you are in a goldfish bowl. You just want to get out and see a little more of the world. This is the week.

So in anticipation of a Geneva scout visit, I’d love to share some moments of Lake Leman. I’m also open to coffee down on the lake.

One of the really crazy things about PR is the repetition aspect and where a project or an image may pop up.

This time, it’s in Modern Living; a luxury magazine for Japanese homes and interiors due to syndication.

picked up one of Localia Interior’s bedroom images in their 20 Dreamy Bedroom Ideas for a Good Night’s Sleep! Big thanks to Yoko Nagasaka and

The translation reads “this bedroom uses a deep, earthy sage green for a cozy feel. A black and white floral wallpaper behind the bed adds a dark yet homey touch”. I can definitely confirm it was a very cosy and homey bedroom to photograph. I’ve added lots more angles for you to make the judgement yourselves.
