✨ After two long weeks in the shop, my V7 is finally back on the road. I’ll be honest — I was quite desperate at first, because the shop told me the ignition and fuel delivery software for my model wasn’t available.

But here’s what I learned:

🏍️ First of all, I finally got to ride my Guzzi with its full 65 PS of power. When I first picked it up three years ago, I had to restrict it as a new rider. Now, with my full license, I can enjoy it as it was meant to be. It’s more reactive, smoother, and no longer hesitates when I demand more from it.

⏳ Second, I learned (the hard way) to be patient. Moto Guzzi is part of a huge group (Piaggio), and sometimes things take time. It wasn’t my shop’s fault — the delay came from the factory side. In the end, what matters is that it works, and I’m grateful to my workshop for getting it sorted.

🌍 Over these years I’ve also discovered more about myself as a rider. I’m not really the sporty type — I’m more of a traveler. I love long rides, exploring mountains, coasts, bends, and local culture. Maybe the V7 isn’t the “perfect” touring bike, but it has taken me on so many great journeys already.

🛞 At the 20,000 km service I fitted new Pirelli Scorpion Rally tires, and what a difference! The bike feels more stable and confident, especially on bends and in the rain. With their grip, I’m even thinking of slowly transforming my V7 into a scrambler — a machine that can handle both the road and light gravel, which is exactly what I need.

In short: lesson learned — patience pays off. I still have some mixed feelings, but at the end of the day, I’m still in love with my Moto Guzzi V7. ❤️

I've owned my Moto Guzzi V7 850 since May 2022, and I've already changed the tires three times.

The worst ones I’ve ever had were the Pirelli Speed Demon. Every corner felt like a gamble — I was constantly afraid of slipping, and don’t even get me started on wet roads. I had them installed on the advice of the service guy at my local dealership. Never again. I don’t think I ever really leaned into a turn with those tires. And to think that back then I was already considering the Heidenau K60 Scout, but the guy talked me into the Speed Demon instead.

This time, though, I stood my ground. I really wanted proper enduro tires. My first choice was the Continental TKC 70, but they don’t make them in the right size for the V7 wheels — same issue with the Heidenau K60 Scout. The front wheel is always the problem.

In the end, I decided to have the Pirelli Scorpion Rally fitted on my bike. And funny enough, I have to thank the same guy from the Speed Demon mistake — this time he actually listened and gave me a good recommendation.

I have to say, along with the Dunlop Arrowmax (stock on the V7 Stone 850), these are the best tires I’ve ever ridden with on my V7. I finally feel confident leaning into turns again. Plus, being enduro tires, they’re great on gravel and rougher paths too.

The only downside? They’re a bit noisy. And with their chunky profile, they’re more affected by centrifugal force, which makes them feel heavier. But honestly, I see that as a huge plus — it makes the bike less aggressive, more predictable, and above all, more stable.

Super happy with my choice — and I really love the new scrambler look my bike has now.
My V7 now looks, quote-unquote, almost like a Stornello.

This is the nicest picnic spot I've ever found so far. There are sitting areas right beside the river, playgrounds for kids, and even a kiosk and toilets. Mostly frequented by locals and less by tourists, unlike the other side of this mountain range. I've seen lots of climbers with ropes on their rucksacks. This place is a great starting point for an epic alpine hike.

I somewhat know the other side quite well, but this side is quite unknown to me. A reason more to come back for a hike myself.

This place reminds me of Canada—the Vancouver area, to be precise. Never been there, just seen lots of pictures from there.

To get here, you need to arrive in Wildhaus-Alt St. Johann in Kanton St. Gallen and just enter the following two words in your maps: Parkplatz Laui.

I woke up before dawn and went for a ride. Said hello to the first hikers and cows already at "work". Later, rode the second bit of the Schwägalppass and went to the other side of this mountain.

This was the highlight of my two-day tour: the Klausenpass and its breathtaking views.
Two rows of alpine peaks flowing toward the open space beyond the mountains.

I found a quiet terrace with nothing but trees beneath it. From there, the road winds down the mountain like a snake, curling back on itself with every turn.

No crowds, no one pushing in for a quick selfie in front of a sticker-covered sign. Just space, silence, and time to take photographs.
