The Urner Reusstal is probably one of Switzerland’s most overlooked valleys.

Every day, thousands of people pass through on their way to or from the Gotthard. Most never stop.

Historic villages, rugged mountains, emerald meadows, and the Reuss River flowing through it all — right beside one of Europe’s busiest transit corridors.

Sometimes the places we rush through are exactly the ones worth exploring.

🚴‍♀️ Die perfekte Velotour für Familien im Urner Reusstal!

Wir starteten in Seedorf und radelten gemütlich bis nach Silenen – vorbei an wunderschönen Dörfern und mit spektakulärem Blick auf die schneebedeckten Gipfel der umliegenden Berge. Die Route führt stets entlang der Reuss und verläuft durchgehend auf sicheren Velowegen.

Am Ziel wartet ein toller Freizeitplatz mit Grillstellen, Pumptrack, Mountainbike-Trail, Volleyball- und Fussballfeld sowie einem grossen Spielplatz – perfekt für eine Pause und zum Austoben der Kinder.

Die Strecke ist flach, familienfreundlich und auch mit kleineren Kindern gut machbar.

Klare Empfehlung für einen abwechslungsreichen Familienausflug! ☀️🚲🏔️

🚴‍♀️ The perfect family bike ride in the Uri Reuss Valley!

We started in Seedorf and cycled to Silenen, passing through charming villages with spectacular views of the snow-capped mountain peaks surrounding the valley. The route follows the Reuss River and runs entirely on dedicated bike paths.

At the end, a fantastic recreation area awaits, featuring barbecue spots, a pump track, a mountain bike trail, volleyball and football fields, and a large playground – the perfect place to relax while the kids burn off some energy.

The route is mostly flat, family-friendly, and easily manageable even with younger children.

Highly recommended for a fun day out with the whole family! ☀️🚲🏔️
