Since becoming a photographer, I’ve always loved creating beauty images. It allows me to focus on the essentials, pure, raw emotion. I enjoy playing with light, sometimes direct, bold, and sunlit, and other times softer, as in this particular case. Sensuality and softness are what I’m naturally drawn to. I retouch my images very lightly, limiting adjustments to color grading and working on skin texture (picking). I do not use deformation tools, and I minimize the use of duplication tools as much as possible.
My process is non-destructive and respects the anatomy of the models I photograph. I rely almost exclusively on Dodge & Burn techniques, inherited from analog darkrooms, which only serve to darken or brighten specific areas of the image. This artisanal technical approach takes five times longer than other skin retouching techniques, but it is more respectful of the image structure, which remains unaltered.
This minimalistic approach to retouching reflects my quest for authenticity: a desire to capture sincere moments without unnecessary artifice. My process is instinctive; I aim to reveal an intimate, almost timeless beauty that resonates emotionally with the viewer.
It is this simplicity and sensitivity that, I believe, give my images their true strength and meaning.
