This picture won the place 11-30 of the famous CEWE Photo Award 2021 .ch ! This is the biggest competition in the world and my picture was selected by the jury among more than 600000 photos. I'm so glad to get the honor to represent the theme of the competition "the beauty of our world" with my picture.⁠

Moreover, it's one of my favorite pictures from the Maldives. This beautiful orange pontoon in wood is contrasting with all the gradation of blues when the water is going deeper. But the most interesting part is the hundred of sharks around the ponton. This pontoon represent the link between the ground and the ocean. This is the place you use to take a boat for exploring the ocean through all sort of activities like diving, snorkeling, surfing, transportation, feeding, etc.⁠

El avion restaurant and bar is the place to go if you're in Manuel Antonio. Indeed they built the restaurant into and around a real and historical airplaine of a C-123 cargo purchased by the US government to be used by the Contras. The ambiance of this bar makes it a unique experience where you can also visit all the carcass.

One of my goal in Costa Rica was to find a fiery billed aracari toucan because of its amazing and large bill which is orange and green. They have yellow eyes with a red strip around. Toucans are great predators eating fruits, insects, lizards and other small preys.
However they are quite fearful so it's very hard to get close enough of them. I got this great shot showing his majestic bill.

The common basilisk also known as Jesus-Christ lizard get his name for its ability to run on water. because it has flaps of skin along the toes that allow it to catch on tiny air bubbles.

Hummingbird is one of my favorite bird to observe because they are so fast and they can fly backwards. A hummingbird consumes one half of its weight in sugar daily and they can lick the nectar 10 to 15 times per second while feeding. The speed and the amazing colors of this bird makes it very interesting to watch. It was very hard to get a sharp focus with this ultra fast bird.

I was wandering on a beach in Costa Rica when I bumped into this tree. I was suprised by this amazing branches formation and this twisted trunk. I tried to get a nice composition leading the eye through the trunk to the branches.

Costa Rica has hundreds of different frog species. The red eyed tree frog is a popular one with their big red eyes that can startle predators. Most of her body is green and is a great camouflage to hide in the leaves. I waited the sunset to have a chance to see them active with open eyes.

Aren't you attracted by these red eyes?

Racoons are both good climbers and good swimers. They are very adaptive and eat almost anything. We can find them cute because of the Pocahontas movie, but they are also stealing food with their bandit-masked face. I saw one climbing on a huge tree and I got a perfect angle from below with this racoon on big branch.

Do you like the natural light hitting this racoon?

La Paz national park is well known for it 3.5 kilometers hiking trails along a series of amazing waterfalls in the rainforest. Keep an eye for the wildilfe!

Is it an idyllic place?

Marino ballena national park is named after the humpback whales that migrate from July to October and from October to March for feeding and mating. There is a sand bar that extends 1 kilometer into the ocean from the beach. During low tide, this sand and rock formation has a shape of a whale tail from above. The most interesting thing to do is to walk on this sand bar where you will have a strange sensation because you have the ocean on your left and on your right. Moreover this makes amazing pictures while the water ends up on the sand with the waves.

Crocodiles live in the rivers and are very agile in the water. They can be fast by moving like a snake by paddling with their limbs and moving its tail back and forth. Crocodiles are great predators with armored skin of scales and a powerful jaw that is stronger than a white shark.

Can you imagine the snake-like fashion move of this crocodile?
