The Tele lens has become my main tool to shoot hiking pics eversince the . Coupled with an 60mm like in this shot the results have been getting better with each generation. However the additional lens were never as perfectly crisp as the iphone shots are without any add on. Therefore I could not be happier that apple] finally has announced a full 3x optical zoom for the upcoming . Thank you apple]. It was about time.

The one mountain I cannot walk by without taking a picture.
Apparently this was also where the final scenes of episode III were filmed: Alderaan, the home planet of princess Leia 🌌🪐👸🏻

I must have shot 2000 photos on that day - we literally had to stop every other second because of the views 🤯
So my advice if you make your way to the dolomites: stay in a mountain hut and take more time than you usually would to stay in one place and area. It really is that beautiful! 😳
Both of these shots were shot on iphone 11 pro. Swipe over to see one taken with the telephoto lens.

Summer has finally arrived in the Swiss Alps and with it the great masses looking for adventure in the mountains. Therefore I just want to quickly remind you guys to take care out there. The Swiss Alps are no pic-nic. The weather can change within minutes and if you don’t watch your step it can already be too late. In June alone there have been 5 deadly hiking accidents in the Alps. So please invest in proper gear and only go on hikes which you have both the physical condition and the mental strength for.

Do you believe in the ice saints?
The blackthorn winter of the ice saints is known in Swiss folklore and other parts of Europe as a period of cold weather from May 11 to May 15, that is believed to bring a spell of cold weather.
- And this year it sure did! The temperature dropped from 25 degrees celsius on Sunday to below 10 today 🥶🥶🥶

10k !!!! What a milestone. Thank all of you out there for the ongoing support. It really means a lot to me, that I keep getting messages of people, who tell me how they feel inspired by my .
So to celebrate I post another one from that beautiful morning on Alpe di Siusi.
I am still blown away by the fact that just reposted one of my shots from that day - swipe over to see that one. I guess I got lucky, that they stumbled across my feed ☺️
Anyway, many people sent asked how I took these shots. Well, the magic word is RAW. I shoot pretty much all of my shots using the or in case of these shots the app in full manual mode. With full control over focus, exposure and ISO shots like these are possible with your iphone only. If you have questions on the process be sure to check out my guide on my feed - or send me a message.

persistence.
When it comes to Instagram, there have been so many times, that I thought to myself „I quit“. Especially lately. With the algorithm getting more and more „unfair“ and favouring video conent evermore, posting beautiful pictures just makes less sense by the minute.
Just recently a fellow outdoor photographer gained more than 25k followers within a couple of days. He didn‘t do anything different than before. He still posted beautiful outdoor pictures as he always did. However two of his reels went completely viral. A simple capture of a view over an alpine lake got almost 11 million views (!!!). So he went from 7k to almost 34k followers practically over night.
What might just seem like a “digital gain in audience”, actually makes a huge impact. With a gain like that, all of a sudden the same content he created before has become that much more valuable. People who stumble over his account will see the amount of followers and will click on follow more likely as they think “this has to be good”. Companies will book the guy as a photographer as they think “this guy has a great reach”. The algorithm will show his pics to more people as it “thinks” “this content matters”. And the list goes on.
Witnessing this development made me think once again...
I wonder: In an “Instagram world” like this, is it still worth to post the content you stand for? Do you just post your stuff and hope for the big breakthrough? Or do you start to post content the algorithm will favour?
Do you stay persistent like that tree in the snow hoping for spring?

Especially in close-up detail shots depth of field makes all the difference. With smartphones you can get real depth of field through manual focus/exposure or digital depth of field through computational photography. Especially in close-up detail shots depth of field makes a huge difference. Using your smartphone camera the right way you can get both real optical depth of field through manual focus/exposure or digital depth of field through computational photography. If you want to know how to do it make sure to check out my guides - or just ask straight away ;)

5/7, standing at the gates of Mordor was probably the most unexpected location of this year. But that is actually exactly what I felt like when I saw the thunder storm rolling in over these sharp peaks in the Dolomites. We were lucky to find shelter in our refugio just minutes before the first lighting lit the sky. What a sight!
Further down in my feed there are a couple more shots of this spectacular day in middle earth.
Oh and if you would like to learn how you can post these panoramic galleries on your feed be sure to check out my latest guide!
