(👇🏻🇬🇧) Willkommen im Paradies! Auf der Halbinsel Samaná, im Norden der Domenikanischen Republik, ging es für mich per Bus und Boot zum Traumstrand Playa Frontón. Palmen, türkisfarbenes Meer und ein menschenleerer Strand erwartete uns hier. Nicht ohne Grund wurden am Playa Frontón auch Szenen für Fluch der Karibik gedreht!

Welcome to paradise! On the peninsula Samaná, in the north of the Dominican Republic, I went by bus and boat to the dream beach Playa Frontón. Palm trees, turquoise sea and a deserted beach awaited us here. It is not without reason that scenes for Pirates of the Caribbean were filmed at Playa Frontón! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Liverpool - die Stadt der Musik 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
(👇🏻🇬🇧) Direkt vor der Innenstadt von Liverpool hat die Hanseatic Spirit festgemacht. Perfekt also, um die Sehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt wie die Albert Docks und drei Grazie zu erkundigen, welche man im Hintergrund erkennen kann, oder sich auf die Spuren der Beatles zu begeben, die hier im Cavern Club in Liverpool 1961 ihren ersten Auftritt hatten. Liverpool ist mit dem Mix aus Moderene und Historik auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert und so werde ich voraussichtlich nächstes Jahr mit der Mein Schiff 3 wieder an diesem Liegeplatz anlegen dürfen.

Right in front of Liverpool city centre, the Hanseatic Spirit has moored. Perfect to explore the sights of the city such as the Albert Docks and three graces, which can be seen in the background, or to follow the footsteps of the Beatles, who made their first appearance here at the Cavern Club in Liverpool in 1961. Liverpool is definitely worth a visit with the mix of modern and history and so I look forward to be back here next year with the Mein Schiff 3

🇬🇱 Expedition Nordostgrönland 🇬🇱⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

(👇🏻🇬🇧) Bei bestem Wetter hat die Hanseatic Spirit Kurs auf die Røde Ø in Nordostgrönland genommen. Nachdem die Zodiacs zu Wasser gelassen sind, geht es an diesem Tag auf eine Erkundungstour durch die gewaltigen Eisberge, die sich hier im Wasser befinden. Definitiv ein unvergessliches Erlebnis dieser Expedition!

In the best weather, the Hanseatic Spirit arrived in front of the Røde Ø in Northeastgreenland. After the Zodiacs are left to water, we went on an exploration tour of the huge icebergs, which are in the water here, on this day Definitely an unforgettable experience of this expedition cruise!

🇮🇸 Góðan daginn frá Seyðisfirði 🇮🇸 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
(👇🏻🇬🇧) Bereits gestern Nacht hat die Hanseatic Spirit im Hafen von Seyðisfjörður festgemacht und blieb dann bis heute Mittag vor Ort. Der im Osten Islands gelegene Ort hat ca. 600 Einwohner und ist ein perfekter Ausgangspunkt die Natur der Insel mit ihren vielen Wasserfällen zu erkunden. Weiter geht die Reise nun in Richtung Akureyri, der zweitgrössten Stadt des Landes.

Last night, the Hanseatic Spirit moored in the port of Seyðisfjörður and then remained on the pier until noon today. Located in the east of Iceland, the village has about 600 inhabitants and is a perfect starting point to explore the nature of the Iceland with its many waterfalls. The cruise now continues towards Akureyri, the second largest city in the country.

(👇🏻🇬🇧) Am Samstag geht es wieder los und zwar mit dem Expeditionskreuzfahrtschiff Hanseatic Spirit! In knapp vier Wochen geht es für mich von Island in die Arktis nach Grönland und via Britische Inseln, Frankreich und Spanien nach Portugal. Die Hanseatic Spirit verfügt wie ihre Schwesterschiffe Hanseatic Nature und Hanseatic Inspiration über die Eisklasse PC6 und ist damit bestens gerüstet für die Fahrt durchs Eis.

On Saturday my journey will start again with the expedition cruise ship Hanseatic Spirit! In just under four weeks, I will travel from Iceland to the Arctic to Greenland and via the British Isles, France and Spain to Portugal. Like its sister ships Hanseatic Nature and Hanseatic Inspiration, the Hanseatic Spirit has the ice class PC6 and is therefore ideally equipped for the journey through the ice.

(👇🏻🇬🇧) Was für ein Ausblick! Mit dem North Star an Bord schwebt man in ca. 90 m Höhe über die Odyssey of the Seas und das Meer. Besonders beeindruckend ist dabei der Blick von der Seite, fast wie eine Aufnahme mit der Drohne. Auch sonst hat das Quantum-Plus-Klasse Schiff von Royal Caribbean viel zu bieten!

What a view! With the North Star on board you float at a height of about 90 m over the Odyssey of the Seas and the sea. Particularly impressive is the view from the side, almost like a shot with the drone. Royal Caribbean's Quantum Plus class ship has a lot to offer! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

(👇🏻🇬🇧) In letzter Zeit war es eher ruhig hier, da einige Sachverhalte zu klären waren, die meine berufliche Zukunft als Crewmitglied betreffen. In ein paar Tagen geht es wieder los und zwar als Gast mit der Odyssey of the seas von Royal Caribbean. Im Januar haben wir das 2021 fertiggestellte und 348 m lange Schiff bereits im Hafen von Sint Maarten getroffen und dabei ist dies Aufnahme entstanden.

Lately it has been rather quiet here, as some issues have to be clarified that affect my professional future as a crew member. In a few days I will be back again on the sea as a guest with the Odyssey of the seas from Royal Caribbean. (👇🏻🇬🇧) Die Mein Schiff 4 hat im Hafen von Mindelo auf der Insel São Vicente festgemacht. Die Stadt ist die zweitgrösste der kapverdischen Inseln. Bei einem Stadtrundgang lässt sich das afrikanische Flair erkunden und danach lädt ein traumhafter Strand zum Sonnen und Baden ein.

Mein Schiff 4 has moored in the port of Mindelo on the island of São Vicente. The city is the second largest of the Cape Verde Islands. On a city tour you can explore the African flair and afterwards a fantastic beach invites you to sunbathe and swim. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

(👇🏻🇬🇧) Wie es der Zufall so will bin ich heute mit der Mein Schiff 4 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Denn genau hier, an dieser Pier musste ich vor exakt zwei Jahren die Mein Schiff Herz verlassen. Ein Jahr später lag das Schiff immernoch vor der Insel vor Anker, sodass ich es zum Jahrestag besucht habe. Ein sehr spezieller und emotionaler Moment damals das alte Zuhause beim Sonnenuntergang anzuschauen und dabei in den Ohren das Schiffstyphon zu hören. Nun ist es das Jahr 2022: ich befinde mich wieder hier, doch die Mein Schiff Herz ist weg, denn ab nächster Woche sticht sie mit neuen Gästen wieder in See! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

As luck would have it, today I am with Mein Schiff 4 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Right here, at this pier, I had to leave Mein Schiff Herz exactly two years ago. A year later, the ship was still anchored, so I visited it for this "anniversary". A very special and emotional moment at that time to look at the old home at sunset and to hear the ship's typhon in my ears. Now it's the year 2022: I'm here again, but Mein Schiff Herz is gone, because from next week she will set sail again with new guests! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🇵🇹 Mein Schiff 4 und Iona in Funchal 🇵🇹 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

(👇🏻🇬🇧) Nach einer Nacht im Hafen von Funchal hat sich heute die Iona von P&O Cruises zu uns an die Pier gesellt. Das britische Schiff hat eine Vermessung von 184.089 BRZ und ist damit fast doppelt so gross wie unsere Mein Schiff 4. Aufgrund dieser massiven Grösse mit einer Breite von 42 m und einer Länge von 344 m müssen wir heute Abend auch abwarten, bis die Iona den Hafen verlassen hat. Entsprechend können wir ein paar Stunden länger Madeira geniessen!

After a night in the port of Funchal, the Iona from P&O Cruises joined us at the pier today. The British ship has a measurement of 184,089 GT and is thus almost twice as large as our Mein Schiff 4. Due to this massive size with a width of 42 m and a length of 344 m, we also have to wait tonight until the Iona has left the port. Accordingly, we can enjoy Madeira a few hours longer! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

✨ Die Brücke ✨ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

(👇🏻🇬🇧)Ein interessanter Anblick ist die beleuchtete Brücke aufjedenfall. An einem klaren Abend auf dem Meer, lassen sich hier vom Bug aus auch perfekt die Sterne beobachten. Also ein guter Grund für einen kleinen Spaziergang über das nächtliche Deck!

An interesting sight is the illuminated bridge in any case. On a clear evening at sea, you can also watch the stars perfectly from the bow. So a good reason for a little night walk across the deck! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
