Dream Chaser
Did you know that the Dream Chaser was an actual spaceship from the 1980s? Well, I can’t think of a better analogy to describe the skyrocketing career of Richard Feuz ().
Richard, is a sports executive with a remarkable track record of leadership in professional football. He started as a communications intern in 2016 with our beloved Geneva-based Servette FC and, in less than 10 years, climbed the ladder all the way to CEO. About a year ago, he took a bold step across the Atlantic, landing in Chicago to become the general manager of the Chicago Red Stars () in the NWSL (National Women’s Soccer League ). Drawing on his extensive international experience, Richard has become a key figure in the development of women’s football, creating value not only for the teams he represents but also for their players, fans, and wider communities.
On a personal note, Richard has been dating my closest friend for years, so I’ve had the chance to get to know him well. I recently spent time with him and witnessed his passion and dedication firsthand. His life feels like a high-speed train—living between time zones, boarding planes every week, managing the team and staff, all while ensuring he spends quality time with his daughter when he’s home. He’s the kind of person whose story inspires beyond words.
As a leader in the Chicago sports scene, what better backdrop to capture his story than the historic Chicago Theater? When I heard the news of his latest achievement, I envisioned this portrait—it felt like the perfect way to illustrate a strong persona and a success story worthy of the so-called "American Dream."
