If you could summarize the Faroe Islands in one shot... this is an attempt to do so.

You stand before a wild coastline where steep cliffs plunge into the North Atlantic along with some epic sea stacks and endless water stretches to the horizon, and sheep outnumber people.
Every direction feels untouched, dramatic, and almost unreal.

The Faroe Islands are one of those places that remind you how powerful nature can be—and how small you are within it.

Wait until you see what these two young lionesses do next...

Their playful energy is impossible to ignore! Watching these young lionesses chase, pounce, and wrestle with each other was one of the highlights of my zoo visit.

Even future queens need time to play.

Have you ever stood in front of a landscape so vast that it makes you feel completely small?

On the Faroe Islands, you’re surrounded by some of the most dramatic coastal cliffs in the world. Rising between 400 and 700 meters above the North Atlantic, they dominate the landscape and leave a lasting impression. No matter how long you stay, you always want to see more.

To capture the feeling of this place, I used a long exposure. The rushing water transforms into a silky surface, while the moving clouds blur across the sky, adding a sense of calm to an otherwise wild and rugged scene.
Would you stand at the edge and take in this view?

„An island at the end of the world“ — that’s probably the first thought that crosses your mind when you arrive in the Faroe Islands.

Surrounded by the vast Atlantic Ocean, you’ll find dramatic cliffs, rugged landscapes, and weather that can change within minutes. One moment it’s calm and clear, the next it’s windy, misty, and moody.
But that’s part of the charm. The Faroe Islands offer some of the most unique scenery you’ll ever experience. Everywhere you look, nature feels wild, untouched, and incredibly beautiful.

If you’re looking for a destination that feels different from anywhere else, this might just be it.

A solar eclipse is a truly extraordinary event… and it needs through preparation. Here I am practising a bit for the solar eclipse in August 2026. The sun must only be photographed with a special solar filter (1 million times ND filter), otherwise the camera may be damaged.

Blink and the Faroe Islands become a different world.

One moment, you’re standing in bright sunshine overlooking a quiet harbour. The next, clouds and sea fog roll in from the North Atlantic, transforming the entire scene before your eyes. Out here, the weather isn’t just part of the landscape — it’s part of the adventure.

As you watch the light shift across the water, familiar views suddenly feel wild, mysterious, and completely new. It’s one of the things that makes the Faroe Islands so unforgettable: you never know what the next gust of wind or passing cloud will reveal.

Sometimes the best landscapes are the ones that refuse to stay the same.

What if you could stand where fire and ice shaped an entire world?

Imagine hiking through this ancient landscape, surrounded by mountdains and endless horizons. With every step, you may travel deeper into Earth’s history until you reach this small lake resting peacefully atop a windswept plateau.

Beneath your feet lies a story that began 60–70 million years ago, when powerful volcanic eruptions created the Faroe Islands. Long after the lava cooled, massive glaciers sculpted the land, carving valleys, smoothing the mountains, and shaping the plateau you see today. The little lake before you is a quiet reminder of those immense forces that transformed this rugged archipelago.

Standing here, it’s easy to feel how small we are—and how extraordinary our planet truly is.

What if you could stand at the edge of the world for a moment?

In the Faroe Islands, it feels like you can.
You find yourself surrounded by dramatic cliffs, endless ocean views, and landscapes so spectacular that you barely know where to look next. Every time you think you’ve found the perfect view, another one appears just around the corner.

If you’re a photographer, this place is both a dream and a challenge. You can spend hours standing in one spot, watching the light change, the clouds drift by, and the waves crash against the coastline below. The possibilities seem endless, and your camera never gets a break.

But the most memorable moments are often the ones when you stop taking photos and simply take it all in.
The Faroe Islands aren’t just a destination—they’re an experience that stays with you long after you’ve left.
Could you spend an entire day here?

Ever felt like you’ve reached the edge of the world?

Standing here in the Faroe Islands, that’s exactly what it felt like. As the sun’s rays broke through the clouds, they illuminated the horizon and revealed the striking silhouette of this lonely island. For a moment, time seemed to stand still.

Wild, remote, and breathtakingly beautiful—this is nature at its most powerful.

Have you ever visited a place that made you feel completely disconnected from the rest of the world?

Imagine bringing your catch ashore through this rugged gorge, with the North Atlantic crashing against the cliffs below. 🌊⛰️

The Faroe Islands are full of breathtaking views, but places like this tell an even greater story. This natural inlet once served as a port for local fishermen, and a remarkable lift system helped haul goods up the towering cliffs above.

Today, it’s hard not to be amazed by the scenery. But it’s the combination of wild nature and human ingenuity that makes this place truly unforgettable.
