Special Fair Play Moment for me in 2025
Looking back to the mont of June 2025 I attended a lot of competitions where I was accredited as photographer. One was the the European Team Championships Second Division at Maribor.
At this event I could capture a very special fair play moment:
It happened that the Norwegian athlete Vebjørn Hovdejord, a 3000m steeple runner, got injured at his foot after 1200m of the race. He could not walk anymore. This happened in the angle where the javelin throw competition was ongoing. Ariel Atias, javelin thrower from Israel finished after three attempts on the last position. He saw the injured athlete and simply put him on his strong shoulders and transported him to the pole vault mat near the 100m start and in front of the first aid teams.
A very special moment. For me, Ariel has earned a Fair Play award and as the nomination window at World Athletics is still open, I have nominated him for this.
