**There are places where it's difficult to decide where to point the camera first. 📷🇨🇭**
Lavertezzo in the beautiful Verzasca Valley is certainly one of them.
The famous stone bridge, the crystal-clear turquoise water of the Verzasca River, enormous rock formations and the surrounding Ticino landscape make this a fascinating place to explore with a camera.
But visiting a well-known photography location also presents an interesting challenge.
**How do you photograph a place that has already been photographed thousands of times?**
For me, the answer starts with taking my time.
Instead of searching only for the obvious view, I like to walk around, observe how the light interacts with the landscape and look for smaller details and different compositions.
The movement of the water.
The shapes and textures of the rocks.
Reflections.
The relationship between the historic bridge and the natural landscape around it.
This short behind-the-scenes video gives you a glimpse of what that process looks like while I'm out exploring with my camera.
That's an important part of my **landscape photography and fine art photography**.
The finished image may eventually become a photography print or piece of wall art, but before that happens there is a real experience behind it — travelling to the location, exploring, observing and waiting for the elements to come together.
And sometimes the greatest reward isn't even the final photograph.
It's simply spending time in a place like this.
