On photography groups, landscape photographer profiles, thousands of fake profiles claiming those are landscape photographs, one can see two distinctive types of viewers. 1st thinks that every good photo is "too good to be true" and AI. 2nd loves the over-"processed", perfect, but fake images created by AI that pollute the media claiming those are real photos of real places (usually not even showing the actual place, just AI imagination of it).
In my yesterday stories, I asked you which photo do you like best. The most likes? The one created by AI. Least likes? The one that was actually shortlisted in the Astronomy Photographer of the Year contest and exhibited in London (and got prizes in couple other international contests). Social media, and especially Instagram (yes, my Facebook viewers preferred more natural look), tought us to like a fake world. Everything needs to be crisp, colorful, perfect.
This post? No AI (actually sorry, I used Lightroom masks which use AI to select subject or sky). In the first photo - I tried to "re-create" what seems to be liked and gain attention. Second is much closer to what I like - more natural view of what I really had a chance to witness.
On my profile, you won't find fake images and AI creations (sorry everyone for stories yesterday - I was proving my point ;)). You'll find here real nature - one that everyone could witness with proper planning, photography skills, patience and thousands of hours spent in cold, wind and wet conditions to capture that one "perfect" moment. I like my warm sofa but even more I like spending time in Nature. I wish more people preferred Nature too.
