Warning: after Oeschinensee, ordinary lakes just won’t impress you anymore. 🤯

Turquoise water, towering cliffs, and the feeling of stepping into a postcard. One hike is all it takes to make you want to come back again.

Save this place for the day you finally experience it with your own eyes. 🇨🇭

I’m terrified of heights.🫣

So, naturally, I went up to Schilthorn. Almost 3,000 metres.

My eyes: “Incredible.”
My brain: “Step away from the edge.”
The photographer in me: “No, no… the composition is better from here.”

I got some accidental therapy, my camera got a few hundred shots, and my fear of heights got confirmation that it’s still working perfectly.
Schilthorn is spectacular.
Especially from a safe distance from the edge.

Sometimes I’m not driving somewhere. I’m driving away from somewhere.
Away from days that all feel the same.
Away from routes that are far too predictable.
Away from always knowing what comes next.
And somewhere between another turn, the clouds, the rocks and the cold Gotthard air, that feeling suddenly comes back:
I can still be amazed.
Maybe that’s why photographers love the road so much.
We’re always looking for something that didn’t exist a second ago:
light falling across a mountainside,
a car in the mirror,
the shadow of a cloud,
a person standing in the middle of all that space.
Press the shutter — and the moment is already gone.
That day, Gotthard Pass wasn’t a route.
It was a reminder:
not everything in life has to take the shortest way.
Sometimes you just have to turn off.
And see what happens next.

Yes, the tunnel is faster.
But sometimes, the whole point of the journey is choosing the longer road. 🏔️

The one that makes you want to stop at every turn.

The problem with a great portrait? You can’t order it in advance.

At Golf Apéro, I hardly ever ask people to pose.
They’re perfectly capable of creating great moments without my direction.

My job is the tricky part — being in exactly the right place for that split second.
