It has come to my attention that there has been a significant amount of negative propaganda aimed at discrediting Mr. Khan during this election campaign.
Mr. Khan’s distinguished career, both in politics and philanthropy, as well as his significant contributions to education and healthcare in Pakistan, make him an exemplary candidate for the role of Chancellor at Oxford University. He has demonstrated leadership, resilience, and a commitment to justice and education, qualities that align closely with the values of Oxford University.
It is unfortunate that some have chosen to focus on a campaign of negativity rather than engaging in a constructive discussion about the merits and qualifications of the candidates. I believe that the students, faculty, and alumni of Oxford University deserve to make an informed decision based on facts rather than misleading or biased information.I urge the esteemed members of the Oxford community to consider Mr. Khan’s lifetime of achievements and his vision for the future of education when casting their votes.
His global perspective, combined with his dedication to improving society, would be a tremendous asset to the university.Thank you for considering this perspective.
